Re: What brand of gear oil should I use for my gears?
You won't get a recommendation for gear oil because it's wrong. If thicker is better, I vote pack that sucker with grease and see what happens...

That's a lot of pipe for a stock crank, might want to step down to a smaller exhaust.Singo69 wrote:its a tiawan bore no polini for me. i am running this pipe

Thanks! They each get a little better, now the moped scene is really picking up again and other people are going to be bringing out cameras too so hopefully I'll get some good stuff soon.

Re: 87 elite motor swap
Rewire the plugs by matching colors (very easy), I don't like hacking my harness so I rewired the stator plug on the motor and left my bike untouched.
You need to grab 2 extra sleeves/dowels from the kicker case (or just go without your existing ones) to shim the motor mount bolt.

Re: Need transportation, considering an Elite or Spree
I have many friends at 300+ that ride daily, but they are on modded 94+ elites. A stock bike probably wouldn't work too well in a hilly area.

Re: contessa vs corsa vs 51mm ruima
I've run multiple 50mm/51mm bores without cutting the boost port, runs fine to me. Maybe not at max potential, but I can always go back to a stock cylinder if I need to.

Re: Bore kit suggestions..
I have a 50mm bore from tazland, roughly $100 on ebay. 3000 miles on my bore so far and no problems. It's not as fast as a corsa but you get what you pay for. I can do about 60mph just fine so that's good enough for me.

So last night it must have gotten down to 60 degrees, maybe even 55... we were FREEZING :P Today we just had to go out and defrost because it was so nice and sunny. Did about a 70 mile trip today, got to my friends house down at the beach and chilled for a while: http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...

If that isn't the most asinine, moronic statement I ever head, then I've ever heard one. I did not tell him to do anything. I even said that I was not the one to ask this question of and only explained why. You sir are an idiotic *. I "scrutinized your post for quality of humorous content, tac...

I usually stick a zip tie under the lug while I tighten it down. I don't leave it in but there always seems to be a piece of a zip tie handy
