Starting Relay Woes

1984 Gyro with a problem. Trying to eliminate me as the potential problem. I don't have a manual for the Gyro but am using the 1984 Spree manual as a guide realizing it may not be exactly the same but probably a lot of commonality. I am getting power to the starter relay but not from the battery to ...

Ouch

Sorry to hear of the suffering of both. Nice to hear the neighbors cared and tried to help. I am always amazed at watching the neighborhood children fall off their bikes on the asphalt, look stunned, look at their scraped hands and knees, get right back up and keep going. That resiliency seems to le...
For your front brake - early Spree cable is approx 2" shorter, and needs a little grinding of the brake end to fit the hub. I think I found a Spree front brake cable in my box of spares that I got with the Gyro, unfortunately I broke my Gyro front brake cable hold...

What problems are you tracking down? I've had blown stator coils (charge and exciter) on various scooters.
Thanks for the data. Looks like I have an alternator exciter coil, an alternatorl coil, and a pulse coil. The headlight coil you list I am not familiar with but I do not have a manual. ...

* - sorry, someone had to speak up. Riding a scooter is one thing, riding that ... well you are taking it to a new level  How about we put this discussion to rest. I spent my money on this Gyro and quite frankly I don't give much of a rat's * what you think of it. But you are certainly entitl...

No need for Speed

Thanks for the tip on the previous post, will look it up. However, I don't feel the need for speed on this thing. I rode one prior to purchasing this one and it felt like my * was perched on a ball of mercury riding down the rode. Very weird sensation. I thought with the two rear tires it would feel...

New Ride to be!

http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/3411/22small.jpg Very proud owner of 1984 Gyro. Getting ready to reassemble. Have read many of the tech articles on the board downloaded a 1985 Spree manual since I figured the motor parts were probably similiar. Got enough of the details I needed in order be comfo...

1984 Honda Gyro

Just finished a 1979 Yamaha QT 50 rebuild and last week bought a 1984 Gyro, a spare frame, about 75% of the parts for the second frame and loads of body plastic from other Gyros. Been reading this forum for a while and was able to rebuild the Gyro starter and get it cleaned up, pulled the head, whee...
