I ordered some orings for my carb from http://allorings.com and they have a material guide here http://allorings.com/material_selection.htm

Make sure to get something that isn't going to disintegrate on contact with gas.

is it spinning when you try? If your brake can't old the rear wheel still enough to remove it then you will probably need a impact wrench. I had an electric impact wrench so it was pretty easy. You can try to get someone to sit on it while you loosen it. If you have something with a really long hand...

Fixing a jet on a carb. [IMAGE]

I had been reading the forums for a few months and never realized that this forum only deals with 50cc bikes. Well right before I realized this I bought a 80cc Elite thinking I was going to call this website home. Needless to say, it is hard to find info on my bike. I've accomplished getting the ser...

thanks wheelman. I think I'm just going to work on getting the basics working really well and then start with a airbox modification and exhaust. Then I want to learn about rev limiters and rollers. How can I tell if the rev limiter is kicking in? I do have a question about basics that is driving me ...

thanks for all the answers! Phew that helps a TON. You guys are great. I've taken the carb apart and cleaned it but haven't done anything else. The stupid thing is missing the dipstick so I haven't even been able to check the oil level. I'm just going to drain it all and replace it with new oil. The...

Where to find info about performance mods for 80cc Honda?

I'm trying to find out info about making a custom exhaust (no one makes them for the CH80) and also about rejetting the carb and putting a new airbox in.. I'm guessing I'm goign to have to be the pioneer for the CH80 because I can't find any information on upgrading it. Mine hits 42 on flats and I f...

Plastic Repair using Plastex

Has anyone tried this stuff? The video makes it look amazing and I found a review on a corvette page and they said the stuff works awesome. I ordered some and it's on the way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xBIf_fx708 http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/2/9/197/10263/ITEM/G.T.-Motorsports-Plastex-...

Measuring RPM's. What tachometer is needed?

Can I use a digital tachometer or what? How do you measure the RPM's to make sure the idle is set correctly. I found a pretty neat little tach that might work but I figured I would ask before blowing $40. http://www.tinytach.com/tinytach/gasoline.php anything cheaper that would do the trick? The one...

I did that and the auto parts store I went too had about 50 different sizes and nothing fit right. They were to fat and usually a hair to small. I've figured out exactly what size I need 20.6MM inner diameter and 1.9mm width. I've found the part on two honda sites but the shipping costs are $15 and ...

Measuring Oring's on Carb

Does anyone know how to measure orings so I can order some? I have a 1985 Honda Elite 80 and I need two orings that go between carb and engine mount. Using my caliper I measure the width of one edge to be about 2 millimeters. It's hard ot measure the diameter because the oring is flexible but accord...

Ugh I didn't realize that I was getting a bike that wasn't documented well when I boguht it yesterday. I remember seeing Spree/Elite and didn't realize these forums were really meant for only 50cc's.

I cant even really find any parts on ebay. I need a air filter and don't know where to get one.

Drive Belt Size and tension

What kind of tension should the drive belt have? The one that came on this bike I got off craigslist for a 1984 says the following on it "23100-GK8-0030 BANDO" and according to my caliper it is not near 10.5 mm wide. Is there any belt I can go get at an auto parts store today that would wo...

It's working!

The spark plug wasn't gapped properly and a couple of other issues all combined it now works.

Now it has no power!

Time to move on to the drive train. Thanks for welcoming me to the forums!
