Re: Which is the best motor for 88 Elites?
It all depends on what you want. The Elite E is not the fastest or most powerful but serviceable. My first 50 was an "E", and my wife loves it. It ran well for a season and cratered toward the end of the season last year. It is getting a bbk, with 4cc overbore. Wife likes it, so I'll keep ...

Re: Blinker question...
Can a regular blinker relay from a car replace the one that is for a 1986 Honda Spree? Mine is shot and I just found out that there $47 to replace.....kinda spendy. Has anyone replaced one with an over the counter relay from NAPA? I'm not talking about one from some new huge 4x4 Ford pickup...maybe...

Re: '86 Spree carb settings without a tach
A tach is nice, but I've been setting carbs by ear for more years than I'm willing to admit. I can even set a Stromberg. :blah: I generally go back and forth from mixture screw to idle screw, and then do it again. Sometimes idle can be too high to get a true balance on the mixture. As far as final i...

Re: Harbor Freight
That sounds like a good deal. I'm looking at the lift, but $65 sounds a whole lot better than $100. But alas, I don't have a coupon.novs86 wrote:35% off a motorcycle lift at HF right now is a coupon I just received!
Only $65.00

Shucks, leave it alone. It would be a great conversation piece, and it would be one of a kind. Everybody has flames going the right way. You would be the only one with backfiring flames.

Re: The new guy here in need of some help...
Thanks so far guys for the help. As far as Daywot, I have been looking but it seems that everything is for the 94 and up. I would love to find a big bore kit for my bike, but no luck so far. What gains can I get from just the variator? Can someone find me a link to check it out? Price? Thanks again...

Re: How rare is the shasta white/lollipop green color scheme?
my guess is that its not worth any more then a regular spree. just cause it says special doesnt mean that much. its basically a 1986 spree with white and green colors. It all depends on how much you're willing to pay. I generally have my tongue hanging out and pay too much. So now I'd take a loss o...

Re: What is a stock vari worth?
I was asking a friend about a potential swap a few years ago. He was far more knowledgeable than I on the items. On my item, he said, "whatever you think it's worth". On the other item, "whatever HE thinks it's worth". He wasn't much help to me, but made the point. In considerati...

Re: 94 Elite- Tampa $400
A bit of confusion there. The 93 would be AF05, but this one is an SA/SR, which I believe I am correct in saying is 94-01. Me thinks it's a 94, not a 93. The 89-93 were listed as SA/LX series, and did not have the "lightening" artwork.
