Yes you do need to get your head milled.
I used a elite head and had my machinest mill it as a high compresion head with a nice sqush band

Re: SPREE TIRES
I went with a 2.75'' on the front and a 3'' on the back of my spree. the 3'' in the back requires a little trimming of the inner fender but will fit.

Re: so the sprees almost done
yea I have the sb50 intake and carb.
But I am interested in this higher gearing of the later sprees. I think that would help because I already am putting a bore kit on it right now.

Is there anything else I can do to try to squeeze a little more power out of my spree other than swaping a dio in.

36mph was after all mods except the bigbore. I clocked it on my gps the speedometer is way off because of the bigger front tire.

Re: Largest Spree Tire Size???
I have a duro 3.00x10 on the rear and a 2.75x10 on the front of my spree. you have to put a spacer on the inside fender and trim it a little(I trimed it with tin snips really easy) But the handling is much nicer and it adds a little on the top end.

Re: Spree Shock substitutes??
I had one of the sb50 shocks on my spree but it made the bike bounce like crazy every time i hit a bump. But the honda ruckus shock makes the spree ride really nice.
