I beleive that is a breather or vent hose, could be wrong though, but that's just from memory

I also went with a gates xl 7240 belt. I am currently at 480 miles on that belt and it still drives. However, I have noticed an increase in slipping lately. At first I was zooming arount at 32 mph but now it struggles to hit 26 so that should give you an idea of the rate of degrading. Honestly, it'...

Thanks for the tip bear! Snapped one up at the H&F for 5 bucks :D Did a few quick tests in the failing light, and it appears the battery is not holding a charge (barely 11v) when throttling the engine with the poles pressed to te still connected battery the voltage jumps to approx 14 immediately...

Yeah Im not really too sure what a hotter spark would bring to the table in regards to your bystarter.
