Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

Perhaps the cleanest original Honda NS50F I've ever seen for sale. Just 82 original miles, all the fairing options, perhaps too nice to ride... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-Other-Honda-NS50F-Rare-OEM-Stock-85-original-miles-Cafe-motorcycle-mint-Collectable-NS-/171064935802?pt=US_motorcycles&...

Re: Pining the throttle for over a mile

Others will know much better than I with regard to the Aero. However to me I would bet if your jetting is correct you probably are fine... I will mention I've done 14 miles straight wide open on my '82 Honda MB5, but the windy road and a few hills kept it from staying fully wound up all the time as ...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

I usually use Service Honda (and have had excellent and fast service with them) but I checked and the fuel cap is $96.93 so a little bit higher than at Dealercostparts. I'm pretty sure Webike is Japan based and shipping will be VERY expensive. However since they have a much cheaper part price maybe ...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

I was just talking with MM about this sad new development. THAT SUCKS your bike got stolen! It it were me I'd print up about 100 flyers and drop them on folks door steps within several blocks in every direction from your house. Maybe mention it's very small motorcycle that sounds like a chain saw an...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

I hear there is a guy in town that can rebuild cables with new wire. I don't have a phone number but I bet Motomike does. Hopefully he will chime in.

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

They don't show up often on Ebay, and this one is far away up east. That said it looks like a nice one with a few days left on the auction. I don't know the owner, just posting it here FYI. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281102424760&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPa...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

I think Bubba is more out north/west of us towards Kingston Springs. I have yet to see him ride with us or the Scootnashville crowd here locally, but he definately rides the Suches, GA "True Grits" event. I bet if we contact him for a "Nashville Shifty 50s" ride (NS50) he would ...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

Very cool you figured out the lack of spark issue, and luckily the part you need is actually still available. It will be quite fun to get the Nashville trio of NS50s out together soon, what a noise... Silly as it sounds I thought of a club name "Nashville Shifty 50s" ala "NS50" f...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

Hmmm...I did search on Ebay and found this aftermarket one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-CDI-MODULE-BOX-50cc-HONDA-NS50F-MOTORCYCLE-1990-90-/171015939157?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27d1582455&vxp=mtr#ht_1138wt_1141 Then I found the same aftermarket unit from a vendor for a much ...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

Gotta love that! Probably surprised some of those other riders with the little screamer. Back when I owned a nice new '93 Harley Sportster 883 Deluxe, I always thought that on a twisty back road I could still go faster on my '82 Honda MB5. When you think of how light the NS50F is, those other bikes ...

Re: Possibly picking up a 1982 MB5. Any options?

Thanks! I had considered building it out to 70cc with an aftermarket kit, but while I was searching for parts for the rebuild I ran across an original NOS Honda cylinder for $150. At that point (though it really didn't need a new cylinder) I thought it would be very cool to do a complete top to bott...
