Re: Possibly picking up a 1982 MB5. Any options?

I've owned my clean black Honda MB5 since 1996 or so... I fully rebuilt the motor last winter, as finally one of the main seals blew which is really the first major old part failure I've had on it. At the same time I pulled the oil injection pump, put on a CNC made block off plate and started runni...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

That Japanese spec bike sure sure has an awesome paint scheme and front brake setup! Bring on the sad pictures so we can cringe... Wishing you luck on adapting the cool parts. Yesterday I talked with someone else here local (that I had never heard of before) that has run True Grits several times and...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

Sounds like you had some rust in the rim. One of my wheels had some rust the other not, and one had a duct tape liner the other oem rubber. The one with the rubber had the rust, I guess the duct taped one kept the water sealed out better. After cleaning it out the best I could I elected to mount my ...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

208 original miles in VA. Even has the optional tach! Expensive and needing some "TLC", but still it looks like with a good cleaning it might be close to show quality.

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

Jon, Very cool you got the BT39s in the 17"! I have them on my MB5 and really dig them plus they have been wearing quite well also. I got off easy as the 2.50 x 18s are much easier to find as they are stock for the 2004 Honda CB50R and Honda (last I checked) still stocks them. I cringe to know ...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

Totally awesome! The white wheels look great, and it's very cool that you now have front and rear discs. I also like the fact that you went with the stock colors. GK

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

FYI if there is anyone here looking... There is a repainted (red) Honda NS50F just recently listed for sale ($1000) on the "east texas" craigslist. I do not know the seller but for some reason I still look around for these even though I just bought one! http://easttexas.craigslist.org/mcy/...

Re: Can you tell me about the Aero 125?

True. Back in the spring or so I drove down to check out a quite clean Red Aero 125 that was on the Chattanooga craigslist. It was very clean and ran strong. However there was an odd crunch in the lower fork/fender area and to me it felt like the bike oddly pulled a hair sideways on acceleration. My...

Re: Can you tell me about the Aero 125?

I searched Honda a few months back and found that some of the top end parts were unavailable, though I seem to recall others have perhaps subbed CR125 pistons with good results. I'm sure others will know way better than I. That said you might search around on the "Service Honda" site (FYI ...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

Very cool read about racing the then "new" NS50F back in the day! Just last week I was talking with a friend of mine while racing RC cars at a local track to find out he had bought a Honda NS50F new back in '90. A few days later he saw my bike and it really brought out some memories, and h...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

"No go" trying to obtain Michelin Gazelle tires for the NS50F. Everyone is out of stock on these at least when it comes to 2.75 or 3.00 x 17s, and nobody knows when Michelin will make the next batch. I even found two different retailers that thought they had them, and I placed orders but i...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

Wow...sound like building a NS here in the USA with Japan only NSR stuff is a cool but costly habit! I bet it will be awesome when it's done. Love to see some pics... I got my newly acquired NS50F on the road this weekend. At first I cleaned out the tank, pulled the oil injection line, plugged the i...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

Thanks Mike!

I'm pretty sure Norm actually has a Yamaha YSR 50. Sadly his was in the big flood and he thinks the motor now needs a rebuild.
He describes it as pretty nice cosmetically, just needs some TLC done to the motor.

Shifty 50s....haha :peace:
