Re: has anyone ported a stock spree? what to expect?
The trick with the stock bore is to not overdo it. Clean up all of the casting flaws and re-transition and polish up the exhaust port maybe widen it a little. I leave the timing along on the stock bore. I add some channels to the boost ports and do touch up on all the edges. Re chamfer all of the po...

Re: 85 Spree top end speed
Lean on wot is bad... Lol of you have an 85 it should go 28. I bet if you go through the motor with a fine tooth comb you will get a few mph more out it when it is working as it should. And I bet the drive belt is worn out and that will rob you of a couple mph. Its not a lot but it's better than nut...

Re: Help with Electrical Components
Save your cash :imo: The stock CDI's do not have a rev limiter like others do. That's the only reason I would ever buy a fancy orange one. Your stock CDI is capable of providing all the spark you would ever need for your build. However, if your stock CDI ever reaches the end of its lifespan and you...

Re: Spree with Ruckus Controls HELP
That is a brave thing to do swap ruck controls to a spree, but hey why not. Wiring diagrams are one of my favorite parts of service manuals. Once you get your head aro7nd them you are golden. I had to decode the wiring diagram for my Pontiac Montana SV6 right after Christmas, saved my bacon let me t...

Same here tons of dish soap and bead sets no prob. I sometimes use fluid film if I have something really stubborn but that almost never happens. Dish soap even works for me on the automotive tire machine.

Re: spark and fuel, will not start
If you sprayed carb spray in both the carb and the carb and still no start, you have some checking to do. The bystarter is only in the equation under normal conditions. When the bystarter is enrichment mode when it is cold, it stops being in the start mode after getting power from the motor running....

Re: Spree loses power under heavy load
adjusting the idle air mixture is always a good idea to do when having issues of that nature but in this case is sounds like a lean issue at a point past 1/4 throttle. So im betting you could have a roasted air filter element or an issue with the air box cover or hose to the carb. or a clogged main ...

Re: Aero not turning over after minor crash.
Make sure the battery is fully charged. Hopefully it didn't leak some guts out when it crashed. If the battery voltage isn't up to snuff a lot of these bikes will crank but not start.

Re: Help! 86 Spree Not Getting Spark?!
Id almost look at the key switch. It grounds the spark out in the off position so if the key switch was bad maybe its shorting the spark to ground in the run position just another rabbit hole for ya

Re: full throttle hesitation, only downhill
Could be an atomizer issue. I have heard about carbs having the wrong atomizer causing issues like that. I'm wondering if when you are going downhill its not under load and its going on the rich side. My af18 with the 28mm carb behaves kind of like that. I wonder if you get a different carb the issu...

Re: Nb50 no start bad bistarter
A bad bystarter will usually be stuck in the enrichment mode or the cold mode. So it shouldn't affect starting. You can test which spot the bystarter is in with an ear syringe from the drugstore. Poke it in the air feed hole on the filter side of the carb and if air flows freely its in the cold posi...

Re: Aero 80 fuel tank
Is it leaking? A lot of shops that do radiator and gas tanks will do the special coating in the tank that makes the tanknleak proof again and stops the rust in its tracks. The workshop hero product metal rescue is worth a try heard it works better than acid. http://www.metalrescue.com/home.aspx when...
