Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

I ordered an NGK Iridium IX spark plug for my 1985 Spree. I have one in my other scooter and it has worked out well. Much faster starts, smoother running all around. It's worth the $7.00, I feel.

Has anyone else done the same?

If the gauge stays put when you disconnect the battery power then I'd say it cannot be the float or sender unit.

The gauge should drop to empty with no power applied... IMHO.

Will do some research this weekend to find out more and report back my results.

I've been reading on another site about rust in the fuel tank and such. Apparently they will rust very easily.

Wondering if the Spree has a fuel filter inline to the carb or, if not, are you folks adding one?

The turn signal has no audible sound to it and I'd like to add one. I can wire up a simple buzzer from Radio Shack but some type of clicker would be ideal.

Was there a kit for this or a third party source someone can recommend?

The Spree I purchased had been repainted by the previous owner. The decals are now gone.

I found a decal shop that says they can copy a photo but just by chance are the decals still available from Honda or another source?

The fuel gauge on my Spree (1985 model just purchased used) is stuck
at full (power off). Has anyone had any luck taking these apart and fixing them?

Does not move at all so its a mechanical issue... off the gimbal or something like that.

Can anyone give me some idea of what the price for a fully running Spree
would be?

What should I expect to see mileage wise for a decent Spree and what should I stay away from.... how many miles is too many miles?
