Amber turn signal lens - check your dealer. *** update 07/30 -- what I mean is that these are still available. While there check out the current Honda Ruckus. It uses the same turn signal lens... There's some new aftermarket lenses too. I've can get the aftermarket part at a local shop for $4-5 if y...

If I've got your description correct its the tube for the bystarter circuit that enters the little chamber. There is a little hole between the main bowl and the chamber. I've had some carbs with it plugged. Since its in the bystarter circuit, it makes for cold starting problems. Plugged, the scooter...

Check out the Briggs and Stratton Etek motor they claim 8-15HP on 48v

Also see the Jackal electric cycle for an idea what the Etek could do for a Spree. http://www.thunderstruck-ev.com/jackal_home.htm.

Another lead is to check out what the Electrathon guys are currently using.

Hi, No answer from maddog, but then my mail could have hit a spam filter.... But here's some good news: Searching for oversized pistons led me to some international ebay sellers. They have pistons for Honda Visions, and some sellers say the pistons also fit Aero 50's and Elite SA-50's. So I bought t...

Nice pics, they finish off how you do the work. Great looking heads Are you thinking about naming a price for another run of heads? Do you think your jig can handle Gyro heads? Noiseguy - thanks too - the lathe jig info is good. I didn't know how folks are doing the mods and dont have the equipment ...

Hi,
Nice 100% rebuild parts finding for your Gyro. Thanks, and looking forwards to your first class rebuild. Gyro parts are not always easily found, and your pursuit of a quality rebuild is a path opener for the rest.

thanks!

Hi,
I live nearby in the Pacific Northwest area, hills here can bring my stock Gyro down to 15 mph or so. But the Gyro is heavier, so you may do better. I've done about 50-60 miles in a day around here. Tacoma's got some good hills too - what's your Spree experience?

Yes - from the Gyro service manual - 10w-30 or 10w-40 depending upon temperature. But do be careful about what oil is placed into your transmission. Do a search on 'wet clutch oil' and you will not want take a chance on automobile engine oil. I got mine at the motorcycle shop, labeled as ok for wet ...

Hey, fine spirit - There's a place for everything, and its somewhere on my Spree :D. I'd use a trailer or maybe take off the front wheel and hitch the fork to the Spree, but have seen a pic on the net of someone hauling a broken down bicycle on a bike. I recall it was the frame strapped across the h...

I don't know what the starter draws max, but on the bench, free running its about 10-15 amps. Don't see why you cant substitute another relay, I might try for 30-40A 12v DC contacts. with a 12v dc coil. Also - used relays are not that hard to find and I've seen some new aftermarket relays on eBay no...

Hi, Sorry - been on vacation. Could be the transmission gears. The gears are straight cut on the Gyro. TG50's and NN50's both can whine pretty loud due to gear noise from my experience. I took apart my TG50 w/12k miles to check the clutches and gears. Had another set from a spare engine that I could...

Sorry - I didn't see the part about the throttle in your posting, but it probably would keep running if you got on the throttle even if the idle jet were plugged.

The battery is not deep cycle. It's like a car battery, normally its charging while the engine is running. If you use the electric starter, it supplies power for that, then is recharged by your Spree's charging system. External trickle charging is a good idea if you leave your scooter sitting all fa...
