Re: Project: Gyro
Okay, I'm 99% sure it's a 16mm x 1.0mm thread based on my measuring. Maybe 1.5mm works too since there aren't many threads on the petcock nut side, but it might tear up the tank's threads. In the next day or two, I will go to a hardware store and buy an M16x1.0mm nut and try that on the tank's threa...

Re: finding lock number on 1984 spree
Try local Honda places. But depending on who works there, you might run into an *. Here in this city I'm in at the moment, years ago they made me a Spree key for free, as I recall. They also made me Helix ones later on for a decent price ($3-4 per key). Now in Tacoma, the one in-town ("Tacoma M...

Re: Gyro - general thread
Sorry - it’s your throw of course. Jim I think I will take the tank with me when I go downtown to the post office in a few days. There is an indie motorcycle/dirt bike shop down there that might be able to check the threads on the tank for me. I need to fill the tank and let it soak to try to break...

Re: Gyro - general thread
What’s $7? Yeah bite the bullet and go for it..." Jim I already wasted almost $100 on new bearings, seals, piston/rings, etc for the old trashed motor before I realized it was too far gone, so $7 matters a lot to me. And if that's wrong and I buy a 16mm x 1mm and that's wrong too, more money w...

Re: Gyro - general thread
66SIX has not posted since 2014. Darn. Well maybe someone else will speak up who knows. Mine is both leaky and heavily varnished so I don't think it can be saved. I might just have to try buying a $7 16mm x 1.5mm one from ebay hoping it's right. If not, then $7 down the drain. When measuring with w...

GYRO PETCOCK VS. CHINA PETCOCK Ordered a China petcock on Thrs. arrived Sat. not bad 3 days . Finally found a petcock for a Chinese go-cart that looked like it will fit the GYRO . As you will see in the photos looks close and it does fit the 16mm honda size tank . 1. It has no bowl at the bottom (n...

Here is a video of me turning over the replacement engine by hand. Sounds like it might be good.

Re: Honda Gyro Starters
What I have gathered is if I pick up an sa50 starter, rotate the case 180 degrees then it will start to spin clockwise and I can use that, even though the mounting plate has 2 holes instead of the 3 on a SB50P? This thread is about using 88-93 SA50 starters for 85-86 TG50. Your SB50P starter is tot...

Re: what is this carburetor hose / tube? - 1986 Aero 50
The upper one is either a vent (shouldn't be blocked off) or the oil injection line, and the lower is the bowl drain. You can ignore the oil injection IF you premix.

Re: Project: Gyro
Okay Ben...just noticed the reference you made in this last comment. Since harleyracer59 is also offering parts, not sure how this will play out. I have seat, hubs, wheels, front and rear, and probably good used shoes. I suppose it would be best for me to assemble parts, take some pix, and forward t...

Re: Project: Gyro
Well I mostly there engine on ebay for $165 that seems like it has good compression (based on turning the engine by hand) and isn't rusted to *. The 2nd gear part isn't sezied up like the one on the bike was. I have new OEM Honda seals and bearings on the way that I probably wasted money on, unless ...

Re: Spree leaking gas!
Nope, it has to be the float/needle valve. That is what cuts off the fuel from the fuel tank to the carb. If that's not working, fuel will continue to flow.
Take out the float and shake it. If you hear gas sloshing in it, it's bad. Replace it. It'ls sinking and opening the needle valve.
