Better front Brakes? maybe suspension too?
OK I posted about doing a mod to change to a different front suspension and a disk brake. I guess that solution is beyond the amount to cash I can (should) spend right now. Has anyone experimented with ways to improve the stock suspension. It seems to have a sad lack of rebound damping. I'm wonderin...

Re: Plunger front suspension, disk brake? Cheap solution?
Thanks DIO that would be the way to go. A lot of bucks when I only paid $550 for the scooter lol One of the things I have noticed about the front suspension is that it has little rebound damping. I am going to investigate the possibility of finding maybe something from a small 4 wheeler to replace t...

Re: 1987 honda elite - (ed: noise when brakes applied)
I have a vibration from the front brake on the BK bike. I am suspicious that the drum is warped. Has anyone had that problem before?

Re: Dio stroker builds/specs
an Engine section with sub groups for Stock bore BBK and Stroker would also be helpful and I don't think it would be a lot of work for the ADMINS All the old posts wouldn't have to be moved, just a place for posts moving forward I need to learn a lot more about various BBK kits and it would be good ...

Hillbilly jetting It does work !!
I put Technigas pipe on my stock de-restricted 2001 Elite. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt246/alexintenn/Scooter/Finished-2.jpg I had already put in an 85 main jet. So I did a trial run. Got 380-390 with a max temp of http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt246/alexintenn/Scooter/IMG_01711.jpg NO...

Plunger front suspension, disk brake? Cheap solution?
I have seen some elites with a "standard" motorcycle front suspension and a front disk brake. I think it might have been a Canadian model. But I have also read that the frames were different on those models. Does anyone know if those parts interchange with my 2001 Elite S ? Where would I b...

I'm interested in this topic too. I am working on a BBK bike that I plan to take on some real curvy roads and I am pretty sure I will need more brakes.

Re: Elite Se50 1.85 rims - What tire?
There are dozens of tube and tubeless tires avail at Ron Ayers I chose this one http://www.ronayers.com/Kenda-K413-Performance-Scooter-Tire-FrontRear-300-10-P168267C71.aspx I did have to call them to find out if it was a tube type tire. It doesn't take any time to get someone on the line who knows w...

The second one looks very similar to my Technigas, I also have a V8 on another bike. The V8 is louder for sure ! The technigas is almost as quiet as the stock pipe

Re: Jetting stock carb, need help please
Thanks guys. I just bought another bike with a BBK so maybe this pipe will end up on that bike. The BBK bike has a V8 which I'm assuming is also too much pipe for a stock bore. Plus the V8 is a bit loud for an around town errand type bike, but d*** the BBK bike does run ! I'm guessing it has about d...

I have a de-restricted Elite 50, 2001. You can read about what I have done in the "Best Bang for the Buck" threads. But it is a stock bike with the air box mod, an 85 main jet and a Keli variator. I just guessed at the main jet size based on my reading here. I got a good deal on a Techniga...

Re: New here, questions inside.
Search for my "Bang for the Buck" threads where I have detailed pics about exactly the job that you are doing. Most of your questions are covered. On a stock motor I wouldn't recommend changing the gear ratios unless it is really flat ground where you live. At least do the other mods befor...
