Re: Engine Specifications

That's sweet, and sounds insanely fast too! I might just stick with the cheaper one if I do swap them though since I don't wanna kill myself on this thing. So if I do go to a big bore and mill the head and all that, would I have to do anything to the carb besides find a jet and tune it? And what abo...

Re: Engine Specifications

Alright sweet, I'll probably just bring it into the school shop and do it if it's not that bad. I'm surprised that it's even possible to bore the head out that much without interfering with the bolt holes. If I do put in the big bore I'm guessing I have to swap the carburetor jets as well which soun...

Re: Engine Specifications

Alright ill definately consider all of it. One of the reasons i want to modify the engine, carb, etc. instead of going right to a new engine is i want to learn how to do new things. My grandpa was the on that un-earthed this Spree in his shed and said i could have it. Im only 16 so i have a ton to l...

Re: Engine Specifications

Right, im not too concerned about take off speed. As long as it isnt horribly slow im fine with it. Im not trying to make a racing moped, just something that will get around a little better. Do you know what ratio or where i could find some aftermarket gears for it?

Re: Engine Specifications

Okay sweet. So would you need to go as big as a 48mm bbk or would a 44mm get the job done? And i was hoping to widen the diameter of the stock exhaust but is that not going to be enough? Would you suggest a later model exhaust or a performance one? Ive also been reading a lot about the pulley mods a...

Re: Engine Specifications

Okay thanks for the help! I hoping to go 45 mph so i can move around easily on the 35 mph streets. Ill look at some different posts and do some more research, thanks for all the info. So if you do adjust your pulleys and gears do you need more power to achieve movement since you are decreasing your ...

Re: Engine Specifications

So if I want my Spree to get up to about 40 mph do you believe this a step in the right direction? What I'm hoping to do is swap the piston, get a bigger jet for the carb, get a denso iridium iwf-24 plug, and widen the diameter of the exhaust. Do you think that will get me up to 40 or does it take m...

Engine Specifications

Does anyone know the clearance volume of a stock 1984 spree engine? I want to try to increase the compression ratio by swapping out the dished piston for a flat piston or even a slightly domed one. Any ideas or am i not even on the right track? Thanks!
