Hi, My 1984 gyro sat for 4 years so removed the tank to remove varnish. I soaked in white vinegar, used nails and shook . I did this several times then rinsed out with gas. I removed carb and sprayed with solvent. I soaked petcock also but now notice it leaks bad and the filter is broken off. Anyway...

1984 Gyro questions - split from build thread
I have a 84 gyro I have been trying to get running, and I did briefly after cleaning varnish from the tank and carb, but it does not stay running. I too have a leaky fuel petcock and was wondering where you bought yours and how much? Is the plastic filter part that goes inside the tank all one piece...

Re: Gyro Newby needs some help.
Ok, I see the wires connect, but since the wires are broken off of the resistor, is it toast or is the resistor missing something because all there is metal housing. I dont know what it looked like before the wires came off. thanks

Re: Gyro Newby needs some help.
Thanks,
here are some pics of the resistor, as you hopefully can see the wires are not attached, i probably need a new one but it would be nice to know what it is for and where it attaches too.

Gyro Newby needs some help.
Hello, Glad to see so much interest in the Honda Gyro. Here's the deal. I saw my dad's 1984 Gyro sitting in the garage not being ridden for 5 years now its now mine if I can make it run again. Its red and looks like in pretty good overall condition, except I know the gas has varnished. So, I began t...
