Re: Bad News Bears

Don't be afraid. Just get in there and do it. I'm sure someone here will have a stock crank for cheap on here. (I just may have one) Ministroke is the route I went, Couple xtra base gaskets is all I had to do to compensate for the difference. I did have to buy a crank puller tool, but I like tools ...

Bad News Bears

Tore down my 99 Purple People Eater to install bbk from Daywot, and found rod loose on the crank. DRATS! I hesitate to go with a stroker kit, but suspect stock parts may be just as expensive. I've never been into a bottom end before.

Any advise from the gurus who have done bottom end rebuilds?

Re: Moving to TX?

Kids want to see the ocean. Most understandable. We went to Padre Island several years ago. We had a ball. But we didn't use enough suntan lotion. We didn't realize salt water washes the lotion off quicker than fresh water. So coat up good. You'll have fun. We've since been to Pensacola and Myrtle ...

Re: Moving to TX?

Novs, you will find that Texas will grow on you, including those cows and horses and grass. And there's nothing to describe a Texas sky. Oh BTW, if you think that was a long drive, go ahead and stretch to the tip in El Paso. It will be another full day. It takes longer to get from Texarkana to El P...

Re: protection

Yeah eliteguy50, the newer bikes are heavier. I was thinking particularly of the Elite/Spree vintage scooters we tout. But I'm even nervous in traffic on my 350 lb Helix. Big trucks on the highway scare bejiggers out of me. Cyclists also get nervous. Protection can be good, but let's not get radical...

Depends on when it was dropped in the mail. And how many watering holes there are between origin and destination.

Re: protection

But then again I live in a small east coast college town where my biggest worry is some dumb 20-something not watching where their driving. Yeah. Must admit, something wrong about a guy worried about needing a gun or knife to ward off danger when the greatest danger is riding a two wheel scooter, m...

Re: Motorcycle Superstore is Super fast

can you post a link? Sure thing Brad. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/ Only issue I had was with tubes. The page is not very descriptive. I was expecting the regular threaded straight metal stem, but it turned out to be an angle stem, not metal. You have to be careful which way you aim the ste...

Re: Tripping stop light sensors

We only have one light in our town, and one horse hitching post. I don't have a problem with either, but I do have problem with the gate at the lake. I installed 3.50 tires on a couple and need to raise my kickstand anyway, so now if I can figure a way to attach a couple of busted speaker magnets to...

Will Winter Kill a Spree?

Spring has sprung, time to get at those projects which I couldn't do. (no heated shop or garage) So I come to the Spree which I expected to be a simple matter. It was doing okay last Fall, but I expected a carb cleaning and a filter issue. Got fuel, plug okay, but as long as I got the plug out, migh...

Re: Honda Gyro

We are in Hazel, KY 42049 It's within range for me. Little doubt I'm closer than anybody else in the forum, probably the only one close enough for consideration. I got your pictures and second email headed your way. But Clivester is right, if it ain't running, expect to make a deep discount. There ...
