Re: I am upgrading my 1983 Spree.
The trouble with that page is that it shows only the stock intake and manifold. However I will be using an adapter and a large intake with four reeds and a 23mm carb, so not much help there.

Re: I am upgrading my 1983 Spree.
The Spree’s af05e will never be as quick/fast as a Like150 or Vino125 no matter what you do. BBK or not. Even if you try to put taller gears in it for top end, the acceleration will be a total slug because theres no variator. If you set it up with short gears for decent acceleration your top speed ...

Bear's health..............
I continue to recover but it is slow at my age and I am also having some cardiac issues to complicate things. But it is so d*** slow it is infuriating.

Re: Spree starts, runs, but dies after a minute or so
I'll check the exhaust tomorrow -- I haven't done that yet. I recleaned the carb, and have now seen the mythical pinprick of light in the pilot jet. While I was at it, I checked the fuel lines, petcock, and tank. Fuel lines should be replaced, I prefer clear so you can easily see what is going on i...

Yes, or you can stuff a rag into the cylinder to keep it out.

Re: CT Manifold
The hose clamps on the intake of the manifold. @veedubh 12mm is kind of small and it is very hot here I think 17.5mm is the smallest ill go on a bbk. No, you can't tighten the hose clamp extra, beside the smaller carb has to bolt up to something, so you have an adapter made. Look closely at my pic ...

Re: 86 Honda Spree Won't Start
I bought a beautiful 86 honda spree about three weeks ago, rode the thing around all weekend. Then I left it sitting for 3 weeks and on accident left the knob on "run" instead of "off" and now I can't kick start it. It has fresh gas and plenty of oil, any thoughts on why it's no...

Wrong, the Spree has the AF05E as does the SB50 Elites yet neither has a variator.charleswymer wrote:since it has the af05e motor it should have a variator to
