Re: Where is all this oil coming from?
Well, I just figured out why my bike which was running suddenly quit, and why it won't start despite having gas, compression, and spark. It also explains the fire shooting out the exhaust port. Timing is off by about 180 degrees, so the exhaust port is wide open when the spark plug fires. Woodruff k...

This is obviously double-plus-ungood. My condolences to your motor, and good luck with the rebuild.jonnynabors wrote:small metal shards coming out of that opening. It feels like a ball bearing or a few have come out and gotten lodged in there

Re: Where is all this oil coming from?
Definitely have spark when spark plug is grounded outside combustion chamber. Plug gets oily pretty fast though.
I think I'm going to pull the oil pump tomorrow and have a look. This thing was running, then just quit down the street and hasn't restarted since.

http://i364.photobucket.com/albums/oo82/jonnynabors/IMG_0061.jpg Here's a close-up of the pinion and whatever that turns that feels like it's locked up. If you take a socket and turn the nut in front of that big sprocket on the right clockwise, what happens? Will it move, does it spin freely, does ...

Re: Trying to resurrect a Spree, locked up kickstart/starter
From what I'm seeing that 1/2 moon gear is done. It is stripped at the first few teeth. It is also in the wrong position. Lulwut? The half moon gear is like that on purpose so that on return it doesn't wander off the other gear. It's like a return stop. It also appears to be perfectly in position.

Where is all this oil coming from?
I've been busting * trying to get my basketcase Spree back in business. It's back to not running at all again, after a few days of flipping between running/not running. Current problem seems to be a gracious abundance of oil in the crankcase. Yesterday, I took the exhaust off, and there was probably...

Have you looked in to how much it would cost you to fly yourself, your paint, and your moped body parts to Phoenix, get a crappy hotel room there, and paint them in the bathroom?LocoParaHonda wrote:I'd rather wait till summer

They are part number 17111-GK8-306, you need two of them, one for above the reed case and one below. If you pay more than about $2 each, you are getting ripped off.

That is not that a good picture. We only care about the end that the fire happens on. It should NOT have been that loose, that is unacceptable.
And, that Oregano should have been sprouted by the end of February.

Re: New Spree Owner!
Greetings, and welcome! Price varies wildly by condition and location. Someone here in Orlando sold one for $75 the other day before I could get over to pick it up, and I've seen 0 mile, estate sale rescues go for upwards of $1k on eBay, but only an idiot would pay that much for a Spree. $200 - $300...

Oh, I've been around here and there. I've been better, guess I've been worse, but can't recall. Job market in Orlando is awful.noiseguy wrote:Haven't seen you around in a long time. How's it going?CharlotteSpreeRider wrote:Heh...I didn't know either until now!

Re: af05e variated????????
Babelfish helps. I could probably get a real translation if need be. I think it says it started making a strange noise, and so it is being sold as junk. The auction seems to indicate they will not ship overseas.

Re: no spark! Alternator?
My guess is the ground from the pulser to the case is not sweet (corroded). May be wrong, but hey, simple to check resistance casually.
