Re: Mookie Breaks My Heart...

I confess to MB lust, if only WHAC could afford locate a worthy restoration candidate and the impossibly rare 80cc kits carbs and pipes to transform it into All That It Can Be. Now comes Mookie to say "Don't bother?!" Dreams... Crushed. Crushed-says who? Mans gotta have a dream to k...

Re: Restoring a 1988 Spree

Re: Restoring a 1988 Spree

Speaking with the local Honda shop this morning, it looks like I'd be up for $4-600 NZD (approx US $2-300), and they mentioned some of the parts may be getting a bit rare. I've got faith they'll do it to a high standard as I've dealt with the workshop manager many times over the years and he's alway...

UPDATE

Since the last post I had the wee beauty running like a dream and took up the hobby of riding around in the local riverbed(may have some pics up somewhere) All was well in Hoon land until the point at which the rear shock mounts to on the engine casing snapped-this being a one piece unit integrating...

Re: New to NQ50s

I cant back Wheelman up enough on the right tool for the job. I've butchered some horrendously expensive bits of motorcycle trying the old "ah, it'll be all right using this oversized screwdriver and prying it off". Find a mate at a dealership, and you're away and laughing. I've got to pul...

Off Road Riding

Does anyone else indulge in taking their Spree/Aero/whatever off the beaten track? I ask as my favourite riding patch is the local riverbed/bush 5 minutes away and I often spend some happy moments thrashing my poor little red rocket around and over rough rocks, bogging sand and dirty great 4 x4 ruts...

You've probably already tried this, but

have you downloaded the workshop manuals off here and checked if they give the relevant numbers?

Have just put a new starter motor in, but still getting no joy. Engine turns over approx 5 times, then on the 6th makes a different sound and repeats the cycle ad nauseum.
I have fuel, air and spark, but the mongrel wont start? Any ideas?
