It would be better to purchase an 94 to 2001 Elite, much faster, and there are a lot of easy mods you can add.

On ebay, under Spree, "Battery Geek" sells a gel battery for 22.00 shipped, 1 year guarantee . I am on second year with his batteries, no complaints. Didn't even need to top off the charge. 3rd year on my Harley gel battery.

The common "Eastern Fart" has 13 p.s.i.

Get the proper battery for the scooter, If you have an ebay account, I have bought 14 gel batteries from "The battery Geek" he lists under Spree, and Elite. I am on my second year with his batteries, and have been very satisfied.

Buy a service manual on ebay for your scooter, it will tell you everything you want to know. Also ,there are a lot of parts for sale on this site, and very knowledgable people to help you.

I had a Vespa back in "63" bought in Mexico. had 2 furry things hanging from the bottom. I asked the seller what they were, he said cajones, taste like balogna, just like amma feedin' you.

I bought 3 Sprees in parts 2 years ago. I joined this forum to learn, but I also got manuals on ebay to learn. Get a shop manual, not an owners manual, it will be a great investment.

Thanks for the heads up on ebay radios, like you said , there are a lot to choose from. Did you buy just the radio, and add your local bought Pyramids, looks like 40w. I am going to see if they will cut me a deal on 3 of them.

I bought the Taz 44mm kit which comes with great directions, make sure to add oil in tank as per instructions, and break it in slow. The last one i built for a guy, I told him to do all this, and he promptly took off on a 20 mile junket and junked it almost.

Luv. the silver paint! My 86 Aero I left in Shasta white, but my 92 Elite is hammered silver, a little darker shade. Nice job! I use fusion paint on all my scoots now.
