Re: New member from France with a 1986 Aero 50

Am I wrong thinking the idle jet is not removable? I cleaned the carb in the ultrasonic machine. All the brass came out like new...good cleaning product. But the carb isn't working better. If the idle jet is clogged up a bit, would the spark plug be wet? And it doesn't dry quickly. Maybe because of ...

Re: New member from France with a 1986 Aero 50

God of mopeds heard me crying...I just found the lost part (going over the whole place for the 50th time...). It had fallen in the earth and grass between the garage and the backyard where I'm tinkering. Reassembled the whole carb and still doesn't work well. The spark plug is always humid and the e...

Re: New member from France with a 1986 Aero 50

Hi everybody! TT was in sleeping mode since end of 2017. I was experiencing carb problems again. I decided to take it apart today and start working on it. The carb went to the ultrasonic cleaner (there was a little dust in the bowl) and when I took it out, I didn't pay attention and lost the brass p...

Yes they could've been lighter than 10 g due to the wear.

Re: UK Honda Vision NE50 MF - newbie performance advice soug

You could buy Honda's OEM foam filter? That way you'd be sure?

For the rollers and stuff, I don't know. I did weigh them to answer a guys question on my thread though. Don't recall the weight, but it is in the first pages.

When you decarbonize a pipe, the engine breaths mo' bettah. Look at the proof : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQb7jZG2W_0 The meeting is at the end of october. This year it'll be on the 22nd. http://mob50.fr/manif1.html They do rallies from time to time and a big meeting end of october. I've been ...

Re: UK Honda Vision NE50 MF - newbie performance advice soug

Yeah, the speedo was cheating at one moment, but it went back to normal. I get a cruising speed of 50/55 km/h. Top speed, depending on wind conditions, can go up to 60. Sometimes 65. I have seen 70 a pair of times, but I'm having some issues with the carb lately and 60 is top speed at the moment. No...

Re: UK Honda Vision NE50 MF - newbie performance advice soug

That still is a bit slow IMO. It still seems restricted.
30 mph = 45 km/h?
Or the engine is "tired"? Can you do a compression test?

Re: New member from France with a 1986 Aero 50

27 is the speed of a restricted version.
No washer in the down pipe, no flat ramp plate ; where is it restricted to be so slow???

Engine compression says what? How many miles on the odo?

Re: New member from France with a 1986 Aero 50

IMO the washer in the exhaust is what limits the power output. The speed is more likely to be restricted by letting the revs go up without them getting the most out of the gearing. If you only took the washer out, you would get better BHP but the speed wouldn't go up too much as the tranny would be ...

Re: New member from France with a 1986 Aero 50

It has been cleaned. Was like that when opened for the first time (scoot had 875 km on the odo when I bought it...sort of time capsule).
