Back from the dead

I haven't been to the board in quite a while. I had to have a couple of surgeries ( My sinuses were reamed.) during the fall and haven't had much energy for scootering. I have been mainly playing catch-up at my business. I am going to spend some time reading posts to keep from putting my foot in my ...

Re: Help with 28mm OKO Throttle Cable Please

I wasn't really complaining but z50r-blank said to me that he had an extra white cable clip and I should have it. Thanks much z50r-blank

Re: some pics of what i have.

That rang with me Wheelman. I had a CBX and all was well until after a run I looked back and found a plume of oil smoke trailing me. I didn't have to tear the bottom end down but it had a cracked head. Honda san replaced the head for me. Greetings: I'm sure TJz was kidding. In case you took him seri...

Both are nice conversions! I especially like the bobber/cafe look.

Great conversion. One of those was the first bike that my wife rode. Pretty pathetic in stock condition. Yours is nice :)

Re: scooter racing in the northwest pics/video 1st,4th,8th page

I feel your pain with the suspension at least if it like mine. I don't think there is any dampening on either end. I had thought about adapting a motorcycle shock or maybe even some air struts. I would like to race again. If it were closer to Missouri I might consider it. I raced bicycles after I qu...

Re: My mini T-Rex - Honda Elite

Nicely done
No balancing. easy steering input, slow speed.
Once you get it running satisfactory you might get a bigger motor.

Re: 1988 SB50 sputters high speed

I would say that it is some variation of what wheelman is talking about. A vacuum petcock with a pin hole will do exactly as he says, or you say.

I assume that you have physically inspected the main jet with some magnification. A dirty MJ can make your engine run hot and slow after a few mins.

Re: scooter racing in the northwest pics/video 1st,4th,8th page

I understand how much acceleration that that kx had on you and how you were able to reel him in on braking only to see you follow him around where he would put it to you on the next straight. You did excellent. I used to roadrace wera and always raced up as many classes as they would allow for more ...

Great video! Have you thought about some different lines. Late apex....I think you could have repassed the #2 bike. He was definitely slower in the corners. Good save near the end when you got to the rumble strip or grass.

Re: 1989 Elite E not getting enough spark...?

There is not that much spark at starting rpm. The spark coil is powered by a magnet and is somewhat dependent on rpm.

Is fuel getting to the carb?

Re: Football Player on a Moped Hit a Truck Head-On

I don't think I would have gotten up. Ouch. An accident like that is something that all of us who ride, whether a Harley, Sportbike or 50 cc scooter face on a daily basis. No predicting it. Nothing can be done to evade it. My wife responded to a similar scene years ago. I went with her. A motorcycle...
