Re: Turbo

The turbo that I referenced is on a street engine. A minarelli based Aprillia. It may have a 47mm bore but is surprisingly stock. He lists the part number for the turbo if you want one. Makes my wallet hurt just thinking about it.

Re: 80cc 4 stroke spree

Nice job on the rebuild. Personally I would have either bulged the side panels wider and spaced them in the front or back or removed the fat muffler and air box. If you have to cut the plastic use something like a die grinder or dremel tool, draw a line on it and try and keep it straight. Your panel...

Re: Why Disable OKO 24 Power Jet?

Bear You have showed that photo a lot of times here. I have looked at the carbs each time and wonder. Please start a new thread and describe your method of tuning a boat motor. Perhaps there is some cross over to 50cc scooters. BTW powerjets don't seem to work on them. Maybe you can be the first. I ...

Re: 86cc Ministroker 50mm, OKO 24mm Jet Starting Point?

Should run nice. My CR85 expansion chamber gives it a nice mellow powerband even with the 28 OKO. Clutch springs are from the hardware store (soft) and still wheelies are optional. As far as carburetion Wheelman, you know the drill. :)

Re: Exhaust porting

You are light weight. Your power band may be narrower and at higher rpm but it can be compensated for with lighter rollers and lighter clutch springs if needed. I dont like using the dremel tool for fine work. What you don't want are waves in the port. Waves are much worse than roughness. I use smal...

Re: What exactly do I have, and how could I make it faster?

Hey don't dis the Elite E. :) I put in a 86cc version of the Dio in mine. Still looks pretty stock, is fairly quiet but will go 60 with current 9.1:1 gearing. I have thought about longer legs (gears) but the Elite E doesn't have the handling or brakes IMO. I sold my old motor to TAz he was going to ...

Re: Why Disable OKO 24 Power Jet?

my 86 has a 28 OKO with a power jet. I don't like it if only because it is another jet to buy and tune. I tried opening it up a bit and that made it worse. I ended up putting a bb in the tube that goes up to the power jet. Just set the mj so that it runs on top and leave it alone. If It seems a bit ...

Re: Flash 4.2: The Break-In Break-Out

Wheelman I have been using Motul 800 (off road) in my Rumia. 2 oz/2 liter pop bottle of 87 octane fuel. No alcohol. Higher octane fuel is not available most places and if it is it is blended with ethanol. I have always shyed away from gasohol with 2 strokes. Motul 800 doesn't mix that well with gaso...

Plankton, I wouldn't worry, just contribute as you see fit. Scooters for me are about fun. Not true performance. I come here to read, learn, share.

Nice thing about the Honda 50 two stroke is that it is obsolete.

Re: BBK question.

I think wheelman111 made good comments on how it is the care and fit of the engine components that matter more than a 2cc change. The engine tuning, (port configuration, carb settings, expansion chamber design) will have more influence on power than will 2 ccs. I am probably one of those who got luc...

The differerences between models are the mounting kits and the sensors. The units are the same.

I found one for a honda 4 wheeler and put it on my road bike.

Re: Wrong oil added to tank.

I think that your oil mixup is blown out of proportion. If you are nervous about draining the tank then don't. You still have oil in the tank most of which is two stroke oil. As long as you are not pushing the envelope then why worry. If you were tuning your engine to go 40 mph then the stresses wou...
