Re: exhaust and build questions
50x44 engine here. I would start with something fairly light. maybe 4 or 5 grams. Since you have the 6, try them. If you don't like them then choose something different. Especially considering your tall gearing. As far as exhaust headpipe my rule of thumb would be to get one the same diameter or jus...

Re: any small block Chevy guys here?
Cool v8 Nissan Pickup. I had a fiero that I put a 350 in. It ran good. Looked stock. http://www.doctorvision.com/fiero57.jpg We wore strange clothing back then :). I had a falling out with GM about 15 years ago. They were unresponsive to a warranty problem. Sold my 3 GM vehicles, Including my Syclon...

Re: Drilling out exhaust baffles
I wouldn't drill it. The end of it is designed for the right amount of back pressure to make it somewhat resonant. If you make it bigger some of the pressure wave effect will be lost of of the exhaust pipe. I am sure some engineers researched this pipe to a high level

Re: 80cc 4 stroke spree
Yeah make a pipe that is either scrambler style, wrapped around the cylinder or motoGP style and come out above the tire. I'd put some kind of muffler on it to prevent a headache. I made two mufflers from an ebay 125 Yamaha silencer. Cost was maybe 15 dollars.

Here is one homebrewed turbo charged two stroke scooter. This one is not for an easy project.

Wide offset wheels, offset engines. Entire drivetrain out the back. I bet that really loads the front tire a lot. Kills the tendency to wheelie.

Re: Elite S VS Ruckus VS Zuma
I too have been noticing that parts are harder to find for the Honda 2 strokes. I have a zuma in my garage. The reason that I went to it was not so much the power but was because of the small wheel/tire combinations that the Elite is set up to run. The Yamaha goes over stuff that would have the Hond...

Re: 80cc 4 stroke spree
Will be interesting to see how it runs. I never thought of an 80 elite to have that much power. It will definitely be unique and substantially lighter than the Elite 80. I would get a loud pipe going on it, cause if it can't be fast it should be loud! If you have a welder, start making parts with it...

Mine is dropped by extending the engine a few inches in the back and using stock shock. It is part of my conversion.
The trouble with low is that with the first unexpected bump and you bottom out landing you where you don't want to go.

Re: Twist & Go Magazine Scooter Tire Review
I will have to see if it available on line. I am old enough that I want traction when the traction is poor. When it is good I have no worries. I don't intend to ride in rain but what if. More would traction on gravel. We have a fair amount of that. This subject came up a couple of months ago and the...

Bear has some good points. I would add that if you lower it be sure to stiffen it.

Re: ok so we discussed
If you sit at stoplights for 40% of your time Odin I would leave well enough alone. If you are near full throttle for 70% of the time then you might as well have the oil. I can remember riding my RD350 and if I wouldn't keep it above 4000 most of the time (it has points ignition) it would foul a plu...

Wet oil line jetting.
I was having lunch with an old friend of mine yesterday. A long time KTM rider. The topic of carburetor jetting came up. He asked me if I had heard of the method of using the wet oil line for determining jetting. Huh! He went on to explain that it has come down through karting. Basically you run you...
