Re: I might do the unthinkable...

If you want to see some really awesome ways to pour $1,000's into those Metros thats the place to be! I'm astounded that Honda in the US can find enough people that will drop $2k on a 50cc Metro that even makes it worth selling them here. Honda produces *FAR* superior machines in other markets (Ind...

So THAT's what clutch weights are supposed to look like...

I ordered a weight set, rubber dampers, and springs last week, they came in today. I am amazed at how much pad is on these new weights. I have three clutch assemblies, and all three apparently have no pad left at all, only the the goo between the pad and the weight left (which I thought was the pad)...

Re: Starter Electrical issues - mousewheels, this may be for you

I warn against using the 50 amp jumper thing. The starter relay can heat up and partially melt, rendering it useless. I know this for a fact, because I've done it myself.

Re: Starter Electrical issues - mousewheels, this may be for you

I'd jump the battery straight to the starter. If it doesn't spin, it's the starter motor. If not, it is starter relay or wiring.

Re: Aero engine take down, to be rebuilt

Now, anyone have a suggestion on how to break loose the dang-ol magnito? I use a steering wheel puller. I use head bolts threaded into the holes on the flywheel where the plastic fan blades were at (not much further than the thickness of the flywheel, for reasons you've already discovered). Then I ...

Re: Carb leaking problem.....STILL!!!!

I had another problem not carb related that was keeping me out of commission, but I think I fixed it. Carb doesn't seem to be leaking so far. Heating up that tab on the float to get it to bend and stick is ingenious, I would have never thought of that, but that is an excellent idea.

Re: Where is all this oil coming from?

Well, I just figured out why my bike which was running suddenly quit, and why it won't start despite having gas, compression, and spark. It also explains the fire shooting out the exhaust port. Timing is off by about 180 degrees, so the exhaust port is wide open when the spark plug fires. Woodruff ...

Re: Where is all this oil coming from?

Cleaned out the old sheared woodruff key, installed one I had on a different crank. Torqued flywheel on 28 ft/lb. Hit starter. Motor started immediately.

We are back in business.
