Re: on the road with no blinkers or brake lights

I didn't have a right turn signal for a while because the bulbs kept bouncing their way out of the sockets.

Did you pull the turn signal covers off to make sure all of the bulbs are still in there properly?

Re: Sym dd w/ hona dio engine i need help please!

ok thanks well if u get one tell me how it is. also would a keli variator give me more top end than buying a ct intake manifold, 21mm OKO carb and 48mm air filter? On average aftermarket variators give you a 5+ mph increase. Uping the carb size can net you a higher top speed but it will not be as b...

Re: AF16E Spree swap, summer project!

Huh, he must have it tucked away in his secret nuclear bunker then  The Ruima one is 44.1 and is the smallest one i can find. As for taller gears, i'll figure that one out when it comes to it. I might just up the weights in the vari a bit to get by until i figure it out. Regardless, these are ...

Re: AF16E Spree swap, summer project!

If you make a base gasket insted of a head gasket you could lower compression and raise your port timing. Just using one regular 47mm aluminum head gasket along with the o-ring on a polini should do the job too. Yes i know but i've heard raising the port timing is a bad deal. I dont want my ...

Re: AF16E Spree swap, summer project!

Alright after some research i've decided to make one head gasket (.125'' thick) out of aluminum and cut a groove in it to slide a second o-ring in. That way i can get away with making one big head gasket without a squish zone of it. I'm also going to make a 3/8'' spacer for both halfs of my tranny c...

Re: AF16E Spree swap, summer project!

Ah i see.

Could i CNC some head gaskets out of .032'' aluminum sheet and stack em up until the compression is around 125 psi?

Or do the head gaskets need to be stamped out to have that little ridge/lip on em?

Re: AF16E Spree swap, summer project!

I thought it'd be a fun mini project to keep me busy  What do ya mean when you say you dont know if the polini likes the min...

Re: What is the best way to pick a pilot jet?

My scoot does the same thing with a 42 pilot. But when i drop it to a 40 it doesn't go *zing* as fast once it hits the powerband So i leave the 42 in there and let it bog very slightly in the beginning of the throttle range because i think its better than dropping the jet size. How would I know if m...

Re: AF16E Spree swap, summer project!

And i already miss wrenching on the parts  Sooo for a winter project i'm wanting to drop a small mini stroke crank in it (definately one that doesn't require case boring) Daywot's 44.1 stroker looks like the ticket, but the price is high. So i found this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hon...

Looks good to me. Once the plastics are all on you'll hardly every get a glance at it though.

What are the plans for it?

Re: AF16E Spree swap, summer project!

Finally got it to a point where im happy with it. 42 pilot Clip at the top notch 100 main Now i can actually make use of the full throttle range. The main might need a little tweaking but i haven't had the throttle pulled back far enough to tell lean or rich that high up. 190 miles on bore so far Th...
