Re: Is there a limit to how many times you can heat cycle???

I would imagine that the upper limit on heat cycling is whenever you need to rebuild the top end after it wears out again, hopefully you get some riding in before that happens :naughty:

Great list!

What air filter did you get and where did you order it from?

Re: Moderators Locking Subjects

My avatar isn't a pet of mine, I don't even have a wiener dog (hope to get one someday though). I do have two chihuahuas but they don't go on the scooter with me. One would almost certainly develop ptsd and the other would definitely go springing out while going wot at the first squirrel, bird, othe...

You can also look up some of the stuff Bear said after the Christchurch NZ earthquake in 2011 if you feel like reading more 'history'.

Re: 02 Yamaha Vino

I had a vino a while back. Removing the spacer in the front pulley helped a little (the washer was already removed from exhaust). The stock muffler is pretty restrictive, so pretty much anything aftermarket should give improvement. Also replacing the stock 80/90's with 3.00" size tires really h...

Re: motor swap posibilities???

The Elite E (SB50) was in production in '89 and has what is essentially a spree motor. If you don't want to swap a AF16 onto it because of costs you should be able to scoop up a variated af05 for less (although the prices I've seen on the forum lately seem to say otherwise). Getting to 50mph with th...

Re: can someone help me with titles?

I've called the california dmv before to make sure a scooter was no longer in their system (they drop after 10 years of no reg) and they were very helpful, so other states will probably do the same.

Ordered 3 sets of tires from these guys over the years and been very happy. How well the 90/90's fit totally depends on what scooter you're putting them on.

Re: can someone help me with titles?

I've had two VIN checks done on scooters (one each at West Eugene and Corvallis DMVs) and they only needed the VIN off the frame in one place. Cars they do check two places (also had this done once ea. at the same DMVs for cars lol). First thing you can do is call Oregon DMV and see if any have been...

Re: Spree-oh-five - chevyguyjay style

OK, time for another update. So I've been able to successfully heat cycle several times. I can get a nice idle by adjusting the air screw with either the #85 or #88 jet (obvious since the main jet has a negligible contribution at closed throttle). My main two problems are when I have open throttle i...

Re: Spree-oh-five - chevyguyjay style

OK, so today I got anxious and decided to pull the motor out of my aero and recover the scavenged parts (it needed to be pulled to have some work done anyway...just was planning on doing it this winter :?). So I got the motor on and running! Did a heat cycle during a break in the rain, but haven't t...

I doubt Lombard street is the 'most curvy' street anywhere, but it is certainly the most famous.

Re: Spree-oh-five - chevyguyjay style

Got some more work done yesterday as I mounted the motor and hooked up almost everything. I actually would have finished but a few parts turned up missing (pretty sure I scavenged them for the motor swap on the Aero) and the rear wasn't found to be nearly seized. Currently its way too difficult to m...
