Re: Replacing my belt.
You obviously have a fuel flow problem. Either your carb is still blocked up or your Vacuum valve is sticking closed. Disconnect vaccum line from carb end. Suck on the end of the hose. Gas should flow into the gas line. If it does not then you have found your problem. If it does flow then your carb ...

Re: 1994 Honda Elite - Electric start will not work????
It could be your wires to starter are not connected securely or broken, or perhaps your starter relay is shot.

Re: Spree Carburetor
How do you know they are junk? Are there pieces missing? Have you tried cleaning them? You can get new gaskets, jets , and float valves for them.

Re: Replacing my belt.
Your carburetor is probably clogged with old gas or dirt particles. The first thing to do is dissasemble and clean the carb. Anytime you buy an older scooter there will be problems especially if the previous owner did not keep up on regular maintenance. You should replace the spark plug every riding...

Re: How to get Spree running after sitting for a year
First you better see if it starts. If it does and runs good then your lucky. 9 out of 10 times the carb will be all gummed up inside from old gas turning into a varnish-like substance.

Re: Replacing my belt.
The only possible way to muscle it on is by what I told you about spreading the rear pulley halves with your hands. It might give you enough slack in the belt to slip it off and back on.

Better check your plug and see what it looks like. I think you will find it a whitish color.

Re: Replacing my belt.
Pull the pulley halves outward by the clutch with your hands and the belt may just get loose enough where you can slip it right off. If not just get an impact gun and remove the nut on the front pulley.

Re: Crank no start 2000 elite 80
Well you know you need three things for an engine to run.
Spark, fuel, and compression. If you are sure you have the first two, then that kind of narrows it down. If the cause is the third item then you have an engine rebuild lying ahead.

Re: Crank no start 2000 elite 80
Same story different bike. First see if your even getting any spark. If you are then get every bit of that old useless gas out of your fuel delivery system. That means the tank, petcock, fuel line, and carburetor. Put in a new plug just for the * of it.

Re: Seriously bad gas milage.. WTH
Your scooter is running great if it can get up to 40mph on a little 50cc engine. I am guessing your 280 to 290 pounds is definitely effecting your gas mileage. 60 miles per gallon is for someone half your weight.

You did not mention anything about your air filter. Do you have one on? Is it clean?

My apologies Bear. Any Veteran in my book is in an elite group amongst the rest. Back to the subject----I still think a thorough carb cleaning and possibly a new petcock{or trying to unstick the old one} is the answer.

Re: No Fuel?
You have two lines coming from your petcock or vacuume valve. One is the gas line and the other is the vacuume line. When the engine is running the vacuume valve is suppose to open up and allow gas to flow to the carb. If it is stuck closed no gas will flow and of course it will not start. To test y...
