yes,its belt driven..i will inspect,as far as i know nothing has ever been touched in the trans.ive had it 7 years and everything looked fine when i checked it years ago.it only gets bout 200 miles a year if that...

no,never died.... just seemed like it slowly got slower and slower,mainly going up hills,driveways..etc..now i know this thing isnt a speed demon and never was,maybe shes gettin a little tired..

not sure wats up...done all my regular maintenance,but low end has seemed to all but dissapear,it hardly goes 15 up the driveway,used to pull right up then all of a sudden it wont anymore.i did gut the exhaust,open up the airflow and went to larger main and it ran fine for awhile...could this be the...

good idea tyin the pump wide open! never though of that,it seems to run very well on 32-1 mix though..once this tank is out i will tie it open and try it..

i will check them out,i blocked off the line to try the premix,seems to run just fine for now,i will def keep an eye out for a cable though

local shops seem to not want anything to do with a 30 year old scooter..pretty dissapointing... and i dont feel like spending $90 on a factory used cable from ebay that may or may not fit..no the bike is pretty muck stock except i did free up the exhaust and higher flow air filter...i was thinkin 32...

so mt 81 express is going in the crapper real quick lately.1st the front brake cable seized and is ruined,now the oil cable is seized.tried lubing but still way to stiff.have completely dissambled and still not good.and its as hard to find as the dam brake cable!! so was thinking bypass that,cap off...

can you check and see if your throttle cable is good? the oil cable on mine is all but siezed up,causing the throttle to hang up..its pretty bad,i been lookin for that cable as well! thanks

ive posted this on the tech board also..i cant seem to find one anywhere..i need a front cable for a 81 express 50 sr.mine froze then broke while i was trying to lube and pull it.i tried matching it roughly with others at local shops.only one that was close was 6 inches to short.i tried ebay and oth...

so this thing is becoming very hard to find.been lookin for a front brake cable.its a 81 express nx50 sr.mine is broken.. i tried to match some cables at the local shop,but no avail...any ideas would be appreciated.

im not sure what to do bout it...ive tried everything up to this point.even a carb swap...so i may try a set of reeds,at least they will be new and i can rule that out! ill keep messin with it though..

no,it is all intact and sealed up[the airbox],i did the spray of the ether around everything and noticed no change.i havent fooled with 2 strokes in a long time,but i knew the reeds partially open isnt good...like i say it runs,but not much over 12-15 mph and has no power.i wont have time to fool wi...
