Re: New member section?

o.k. -- I'm going to attempt what has been suggested with the hoses from control box to carb&manifold. For tonight, I'll basically cut hose 1 and 2, and cap off & label all 4 resulting loose ends. then I'll try running the scooter up to operating temp. Tomorrow I'll go get a nice ball valve ...

Re: New member section?

no idea. I must admit I am going almost entirely based upon the posts I am reading as I wait for sleep to take me. I'm just trying to get the machine at the best I can manage. I don't mean to annoy anyone.

Re: New member section?

New lines seem like a great idea. I also feel my best solution to the carb mess is to get the dio setup bear suggested. Around boise I could get killed if this old girl can't pull 45 in some areas. I did get her doing 40 consistently for the first time today, however: I pulled out all the lines (blu...

Re: New member section?

the new sparkplug boot is my addition. the rest of the rat's nest is how I got it. the little ngk nipple inside the existing plug boot was pretty chewed up and I wanted a better connection. I got this scooter for $350, and before I get laughed outta here, I bought what I could afford to get my butt ...

Re: New member section?

video and pics shortly... never done this before... Seems I have to email the pics and the video clip to myself to get around the security issues for this computer I am borrowing. Syncing to itunes is a no-go... I'm on it, I'll get it done a.s.a.p. -- just gotta figure out the particulars... if I em...

Re: New member section?

Another way to look at it (is it obvious I can't sleep): http://i751.photobucket.com/albums/xx160/Breazeway/capture2ve-1.png If you simply detached hose #1 and hose #2 from the control box and connected them to each nipple of a fuel shut-off valve, the valve could be turned on to supply extra fuel ...

Re: New member section?

so she's like her daddy... a bit older and slower, wheezing on steep hills but basically ok? I am trying to make sense of the bystarte topic that was suggested. I am feeling a bit stupid. 6 hoses? I'm nervous. I know what a ball valve is, but the rest of it is clear as mud. I'll research more....

Re: New member section?

[quote="Bear45-70"][quote="zadman2012"]Thanks guys. Compression comes out perfect o.k.- not perfect. I did more reading. Found the pdf manual... Seems 142 is MINIMUM? I was under the impression a 28 year old 80cc 2 stroke was doing good to pop out 100 psi. -sigh- k, anyway... 5 r...

Re: New member section?

awesome. thanks guys. mileage might be due to my large behind, but I will get on the bystarter topic and learn of it. Do I really need a 24mm carb? that seems big. bear says a 21mm at least. I'm just concerned of going too large... thx.

52400-GN3-701 no longer available?

um. crap. My rear shock is on the replace list.
last 5 pages all say no dice, not carried anymore.
what shock can be substituted on my Aero80?
I wouldn't mind something stiffer than the stock one.
would it be safe to just take the tired shock to a honda shop and see what they have?

Re: Stock Oil Pump Delivery Ratio

Wow! what a thread! Ahem...
Soooo, if'n I were to ditch the pump on my aero80, and did 40:1, by what measure should I rejet? If I had a #90 with injection, do I go 95 or so for premix? Thanks.
I am looking to do intake and exhaust mods only... Bigger piston, maybe after the cylinder ovals... :)
