Re: 1985 Spree won't turn over
Correct plug is BPR7HS. I would pull the plug and see of you get pull spraying out of it turns over at that point. Hopefully someone diddnt put a longer reach plug in it, not sure if an ES longer reach plug would be long enough to jam the piston or not.

Re: Honda Dio only runs when....
I have have a completely stock Honda Dio SK50. And after around 6 months hibernation I decided to start it. Took a few kicks but started up and idled nicely... so left it ideling for a minute. And then decided to give it a few revs... then stalled out, and this process contined for a while.... just...

Re: AX24 belt for spree latest update
My 2 pesos: I tried an AX23 belt on a bone stock Spree and you had to Flintstone the take-offs. Almost un-ridable since it takes half a city block to get to 15mph. Sure, it gave me 2-3mph on the top end but getting there was as exciting as watching paint dry. Here is where I got it from FYI: http:/...

Re: AX24 belt for spree latest update
When you run a bbk the AX23 works well because you have the extra bottom end to push the diffent gear ratio. But with out a bbk you likely need much heavier cluch springs to have the clutch engage at a much higher rpm when you are up in to the power band. Some higher compression would also help. But...

Re: Decal Removal
Hair dryer or heat gun to loosen the decal to pull it up and lighter fluid to remove residue. WD40 can help to remove the adhesive, but lighter fluid is the best I have ever found to date.

Re: NO SPARK!!!!!!!!
Those cheap cdi boxes usually suck. I had one work once but only kept it as a spare where I knew it functioned after testing. Never left it on any rigs to avoid failure on the road. I have spare stock cdi now for troubleshooting. Grab a used stock cdi you won't regret it. I would go through every bu...

Re: Issue with coupler on Polini CP carb.
I find with the rubber couplers the trick is to spray inside the rubber with carb cleaner and wipe it out so its absolutely dry and free of any oil or grease. Do the same with the intake tube. Get the clamp good and tight with a good quality clamp, somtimes the ones with the coupler aren't so great....

I opened bowl drain screw. Some fuel is running https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPGIfsVOh48 How do I check for vacuum? I detached intake tube from petcock and when I start the engine I feel that air is going out of it. Should it be the other way around? Coil connections seem fine... take the vacuum...

Re: how to clean out a plugged muffler?
Baking a pipe in a campfire is quite entertaining. The last pipe I did shot flames out both ends like a jet engine for almost 45 min. Just make sure you let the pipe cool completely on its own don't quench It with water.

Re: Changing Spree tires - What's the trick?
Last bunch of scooter tires I wish I used fluid film spray as the lube. worked the best. I used it because I diddnt want to wreck the new paint on the wheels. Lots of dish soap would have been close but the expensive fluid film rocks. I have one of those small engine mnual tire changers now and I ca...

Re: Changing Spree tires - What's the trick?
Rusty wheels will prevent you from unmounting and mounting your tires. If the inside surfaces of your wheels are rusty clean and paint them. Let the paint dry well. That's is the secret to putting your tires on with ease. Years ago I wrestled with spree tires and that was the issue. Some paint and l...

Re: Spree won't start
Open the float bowl drain screw and check for flow when the motor cranks and or runs. I had a quick sec to check out the video the other day. Sounds like its simply running out of fuel. Could be something else but check there first. Pulling the vacuum line that goes from the intake tube to.the petco...

Re: has anyone ported a stock spree? what to expect?
Cleaning up that intake port on the block really helps its pretty ugly on the spree. Very bad flow stock. This picture was while the job was in progress. http://i827.photobucket.com/albums/zz196/patthesoundguy/_20140529_104726_zps2uztcbse.jpg the idea is to take away any flat surfaces and have smoot...
