As I level out I hit the throttle again despite going a bit faster that the engine can do on flat ground. There is a odd stutter where the engine soun...

Re: Back tire seized! What could it be?
I also went with a gates xl 7240 belt. I am currently at 480 miles on that belt and it still drives. However, I have noticed an increase in slipping lately. At first I was zooming arount at 32 mph but now it struggles to hit 26 so that should give you an idea of the rate of degrading. Honestly, it'...

Re: big bore kit and gears?
Im in a similar boat as the OP. (stock 87 spree) I was considering just buying a nice bbk, but I am unsure of whether I will be needing to throw more into the scoot after the cylinder has been upped. Will I need a new crank, bigger carb, new reeds, etc? Or will the thing run okay with everything ess...

Re: Bad Rectifier
Thanks for the tip bear! Snapped one up at the H&F for 5 bucks :D Did a few quick tests in the failing light, and it appears the battery is not holding a charge (barely 11v) when throttling the engine with the poles pressed to te still connected battery the voltage jumps to approx 14 immediately...

Wanted: Spree Drive Face
err this is rather old but I was referring only to the 50T (drive face) 28211-GR2-000, I'm not sure why this thread is taking a turn toward an unrelated part.

Re: Bad Rectifier
http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r206/Bear-45-70/Emoticons/sign0012.gif :D I have one of the awful scans, and I did. But as I said earlier, no multimeter, which is necessary for the tests that I found in the manual. Hence me asking for other, more readily apparent indicators. Try and remember whe...
