Re: Stock Oil Pump Delivery Ratio

Thanks Fowler! I am going to put on the heat gauge very soon. Am I correct, that anything just under 300 is about right?

Re: Stock Oil Pump Delivery Ratio

Yeah I was talking about the bike pumped 4 ounces in two tanks, so if I had added 2 per fill-up that would be 8 ounces for about 2 gal Puts me right at 4 per tank. A fill up is actually .9 gal but I'm not worrying about being just a little over . I think that will work OK. I'm going to check on how ...

Re: Stock Oil Pump Delivery Ratio

Thanks LMH I found that de reg ran fine with an eighty jet, but I put in the 85 and it still runs OK but it is killing gas mileage. Would the 85 jet maybe all right with a pipe? I am ordering a head temp gauge now so that I won't have to guess. Should the head temps run about 280 to 300? What is TOO...

Off topic tuning requests - split from Oil Pump Delivery Ratio

OK question from a :newb: Am I likely doing the right thing on my de regged SA50p leaving my pump active and wired at about 2/3 open AND adding about an ounce of oil per fill up. If I run to the bottom of the RED it takes about .9 gal every time. I am planning to add a pipe and a bigger main jet. Wh...

Re: Stock Oil Pump Delivery Ratio

I did the "zip-tie" mod except I used safety wire. I opened up the lever about 2/3 of the way. In the first two tanks I used a total of 1.8 gal of gas and it took 6 ounces to refill the tank. This was almost all WOT riding. I'm going to leave it this way and add i ounce of oil each time I ...

Re: How important is the SEF ramp?

Good idea, the KELI should be here tomorrow, I'll try to remember to check the spec while it is apart. 343 miles today :-) About twice what it had on it when I bought it. (170)

Re: Best Bang for the Buck, the mods begin

Thanks King, that's a sport bike thing :-) I was hoping it would come out good. The next thing I'm going to do is go to the local shop that does stickers and wraps at very reasonable prices. They do all the logos on the delivery trucks and police cars around here. They can produce any kind of sticke...

Re: Best Bang for the Buck, the mods begin

Continuing with a few cheap mods. I think this looks better. Gotta love a Dremel tool (Magic stick) http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt246/alexintenn/Scooter/trimmedfender.jpg And YES I AM aware that my shop is a total disaster. See the hole in the flooring. I had a fire from a propane heater that...

Re: Best Bang for the Buck, the mods begin

On level ground the speedo is pointing exactly at the K in KPH. It looks like that would be just about 40mph. However on my street where I can run about 1/2 mile of slight downhill I get exactly the same speed. That's why I want to try the variator. I think I have read it has a different slope that ...
