Re: Cargo Racks, Grab Bars
A couple test joints were made to find a good torch tip size and settings.
I guess the joint has too much brazing rod added, but it sure flowed well.
A jig to hold the rack mounts steady was made

Re: Cargo Racks, Grab Bars
I was going to modify the Aero 80 rack to move the mounts and shorten overall height to fit a 1984 NN50 Gyro. I just want a flat rack to mount a bag - like the way bicycle panniers mount. So the bottom shelf and spring were going to be cut off. Also to fit the NN50 both mounts were going to be re-po...

Re: A Nifty Spree for me
I like the Nifty Fifty head plastic - wish the US got them.. When I start it now the scooter sounds horrible . No power to even move back wheels . Moving screws seams to have no impact at all. Then all of a sudden it starts revving like it will take off like a rocket with back wheel spinning like cr...

Re: Electronic 2 Pin LED Flasher Test
Switching Regulator LEDs Upon varied input voltage, the LEDs with internal switching regulators performed to their low voltage spec. I only tested them with flashers to 15v, but ran up to 20v on the lamps alone. In our scooters, the regulator/battery should keep the voltage to around 14.2 max. Beyo...

Re: Electronic 2 Pin LED Flasher Test
LEDs Here's what has been tested: The Tail/Stop lamp is out of scope for the Flasher test. Notable is it's seller spec'd 5v-24v operation. To my eye, the right most T10 lamp was the brightest, followed by the White LED. The Amber LED in the center is the weakest. Lamp_Comparison_1a.jpg Lamp_Compari...

Re: Replacing bulb 2007 Honda elite
Elite 80?
I'd guess you pull off the rubber cap (11), then rotate the bulb.
The three fingers on the lamp drop under a flange.

Re: Cargo Racks, Grab Bars
vintagegarage said the mount fit 50cc scooters he'd tried. I wondered what it would look like on a 98-01 Elite SA 50 so bought one to try.

Re: Cargo Racks, Grab Bars
Another find by vintagegarage was the Aero80 front rack. It is fancier than the Aero50 - adding a spring loaded 'rat trap' cargo hold down, a crossbar on the lower 1/3 of rack which has hooks for bungee cords. Also a curious set of threaded holes at the top. Check out vintagegarage's thread here: ht...

Re: Cargo Racks, Grab Bars
Here's a front rack built by a member around 2010. Original thread is now missing photos. I have only one photo grabbed from years back.
I was built from hydraulic line rather than solid bar stock, so it's lighter than it looks.

Re: Starter bendix binding
On US Sprees, the 1984/85 models had 10T on the starter motor and 65T on the bendix. When then 86/87 model replaced them, the starter had 11T and 63T on the bendix. I'll try and track down Nifty 50 tooth counts. On your side check both your starter motor and bendix tooth count and make sure the sell...
