Re: 87 Honda Spree Not Running, Fuel Problem
Spree plastics are not available new. Best bet is to repair old panels. You may find some panels here from some board members that sell used parts. Just post in the wanted for sale section

Re: Spree died mid ride
Doesn't sound good to me. The rattle sound is not a happy one. Don't waste any time. Pull the head and check the cylinder. The sound of compression can fool you. I heard a rattle sound in my spree motor once, it was a piece of reed stopper spring bouncing around in the top end at 11k rpm. Sound like...

Re: Rollers..to grease or NOT to grease
Don't grease the rollers. You can use powdered graphite and rub it in to the variator if you want. As for roller weights that depends on how you want the variator to react. Lighter weights keeps you in "lower" hear longer and heavier weights makes it shift up quicker. And the driven pulley...

Re: Getting the Tazland BBK, GEARS, + MLM ran on a dyno
I wish I had more free time, I would put my bbk back together and experiment with carbs. Taz had an adapter plate with the ct intake to bolt it to the spree. Then there was a kit with the intake/adapter and 21mm carb. It was wicked I have one. The trick is to have an affordable carb and intake setup...

Re: Getting the Tazland BBK, GEARS, + MLM ran on a dyno
I had great luck with my spree big bore kit. And years ago there were lots of guys running the bbkits. There were even 44mm kits. I miss it. I think the missing link is a better carb which I had. I also had a rad malossi hi comp oring head on it too. Wish I could have run it on the dyno.

If the bystarter is not installed or leaking tons where the oring is you will get high runaway racing of the motor.blake05 wrote:Any updates I am having similar issues. Bystarter is definitely broken for me but I wouldn't expect that to cause extreme rpms

Re: Idling high, fouling spark plugs
I want to say he made it from cork gasket material since he works on motorcycles. I don't know why my first instinct was a cork sheet but that doesn't seem right. I can't get him to actually write on here himself which is infuriating. This seems like it should have been figured out a long time ago....

Re: Idling high, fouling spark plugs
Which gasket was made from cork? Was it the synthetic cork gasket material or actual cork sheet? There isn't much to a spree im sure we can help you get it running like it should.

Re: Polini 19mm won't start on my spree
Your temps seem a little on the cool side maybe. It won't be as efficient if it doesn't get quite hot enough. And it might foul plugs easily. its prob still rich. When it won't rev up is it growly sounding? And if you bypass the oil pump run 32:1.

Re: 86 Spree ALMOST running after 10 years. Almost. Advice?
Mr Jumps is right. The vacuum test is the best way. And it can be done with an ear syringe from the drug store. Just push the syringe against the port on the carb and squeeze. If air flows its in the enrich mode and now flow its in normal warm mode. So if air flows when the motor has had adequate ti...
