Re: 1987 se50 elite mlm pipe.
If I remember right, the stock rollers are like 12g or something crazy. Been a minute since I weighed them. Its a sound investment to buy a cheap digital meth scale on Ebay. I think mine was less than $20. Keep in mind that you can mix-n-match different weights in the vari as long as they are evenly...

Re: 2000 Elite SA50P Not Running After Initial Repairs/Service
Heavier rollers than stock would hinder your take-offs. The stock rollers are way too heavy as it is. Get the yellow malossi contra spring, some 9:1 gears, a decent variator and some 6g rollers.

Re: 1986 Spree progress.
32:1 ratio is what these motors like. That works out to 4oz oil per gallon of gas. How much the pump provides is a variable number since it fluctuates with the rpm’s. Whenever an oil pump dies, begins leaking or otherwise needs replacing..most people delete it and just pre-mix their gas since oil pu...

Re: 85 spree
Also, under the petcock is an in-tank screen filter. You can see it by looking into the tank through the top holes. I have never been able to successfully remove one without destroying it. Only attempt to remove it if you have a new one on-hand. Otherwise, leave it in and just flush it out in both d...

Re: 85 spree
If you follow the sending unit wires down, about 1ft from the tank theres bullet connectors that can be pulled apart. I suggest taking the sending unit out instead while you flush the tank. Do this by rotating the golden collar by means of a flathead screwdriver in one of the notches and tapping wit...

Re: new to forum
Typically you would down-jet for higher elevation and not that much. When I was up about 4000ft I noticed the scoot was a bit of a turd. Acted like the jet was too fat and didnt have any on me. I just raised the needle to the top notch and it was good to go. Changing to a bigger carb might be a bit ...

Re: Honda Shadow/Joker/SRX50 from 50cc -> big bore kit
Needs more air…bigger carb, intake and pod filter. Thats a much bigger slug than stock so it needs a supporting cast. Its breathing through a straw. Also need a temp gauge for tuning to avoid damage.

Re: '85 Spree randomly died
If my memory serves me, each side of the crank is different sizes. Its been a minute since I’ve done them. I do remember there being a helpful youtube video on how to yank the old ones out using basic tools without scratching up the crank. They make a special tool for pulling them but last I looked ...

Re: High Mileage SPREE shout out . . .
I had one with 25k on it. Speedo assemblies get easily swapped around so who knows what the scoot really had. I also acquired an 87’ Elite with only 200mi on the odo from the original owner. He said the speedo cable got snagged and ripped out on his boat trailer when he first got it in 1987 and he n...
