Keep in mind, You buying it used, that the carb could be cleaned, new spark plug, new gas and oil if it has been sitting. These will help you achieve optimum performance. When in doubt, replace it.

In all reality, 30 mph on a spree is really good, most will agree with that. I get about 32 with my 285 lb butt on it. I would just leave it alone. Just keep it maintained. KISS Philosphy applies here.

Mine is a pain in the mornings, so what i usually do is take off the intake tube from carb to air cleaner and put 2 fingers over it to start it then usually one finger just enough to keep it running for about a min. Then pop the tube back on and let it warm up and off you go.

It will take a while to burn through the old oil. You'll need to dump the oil in tank and lines to get it all out, then refill with new oil and purge the air out per the Honda manual.
