Have not seen much on what chancing the gear oil or what is the recommended type for the Spree.
I checked mine (recently purchased Spree 85) this past weekend and it looked like foggy green pea soup. Only about 60CC's came out.
Refilled with 90CC's of the stuff I use in my TGB.

Detailed explaination of the air box, please.
Can someone explain to me why air box and filter are so critical to the operation of the Spree? Why is it important the box be tightly closed so air only comes in the port at the back? Why does the foam filter have to be soaked in motor oil to work. Why, if the hose comes off the air box, will the e...

Updating the Spree kickstart?
Does anyone know if I can update my Spree kickstart... the exterior foot lever that clamps onto the shaft... to the version for the Elite as seen in this photo? That is, is the shaft diameter the same for both? Are there any 3rd party kick starts you can recommend? Thanks. http://i302.photobucket.co...

I found this Husky charger at a garage sale about two years ago for $15. It is the best charger I've ever owned. Charges everything from my car battery, to my riding lawn mower to my two scooter batteries. Will never overcharge and tells you what the condition of the battery is. http://www.homedepot...

Spree battery
Walmart stocks the battery for the Spree.
Their Everstart ES4LBS sells for $34 with a core exchange.
BTW: You can get an additive from J.C. Whitney (www.jcwhitney.com) to desulfate your existing battery.

A couple of points on the Iridium plugs. 1) You will not be replacing them often. They do not wear out like normal plugs so in the long run paying $7.00 for one vs $2.00 every few months makes sense $ wise. 2) They do not work by burning hotter, they work by firing exactly the same every time and wi...
