Re: Honda Aero 125.. Loud bang

Here is how I keep my trans cover bolts in the right places :-) after getting mixed up I know were the go now especially on the spree cover but this tool sure speeds things up http://i827.photobucket.com/albums/zz196/patthesoundguy/IMG_20140519_121109_zpsqzafht8_edit_1401760140286_zpscxusjurb.jpg L...

Re: Briefly out of commission

Very kind offer that I will keep in mind. Let me make sure I get that front end straightened out first.

Re: Briefly out of commission

But that's why you have uninsured/underinsured coverage with pretty high limits. That's the only insurance you buy that actually helps you. They are supposed to treat you like the other guy's insurance should, so you can ask for reimbursement for lost earnings, things that you had to pay someone to...

Re: Trying to get Spree running after 11 year storage

Bystarters that fail or have poor electric connections allow cold starts perfectly, because if they don't work they leave the enriching circuit wide open all the time. When the engine starts to warm up the mixture is just too rich and the engine runs badly and wastes gas and won't start at all. If ...

Re: Trying to get Spree running after 11 year storage

Is the fuel filter inside the tank? I removed petcock and did not see a filter. yes - inside the tank and can be difficult to pry out - if you can get fuel flow by applying vacuum (sucking), it may not be worth it Will check the bystarter to see its operation. I am pretty sure the pilot jet is clea...

Re: Trying to get Spree running after 11 year storage

The machine will start after it has sat for a while but after a start it will not restart. It will run with throttle and can sometimes get it to idle but not always. Usually indicates that the idle jet is blocked (hard to clean on Spree's - need to be able to see pin-prick of light thru it and spra...

Re: Another silver NH80

Hi all, I've already sold it. Got 675.00 which I thought was fair. Interesting though, saw it the next day on CL being sold by the guy who bought it from me for $1000.00. I've been watching it - he now has it down to $900.00. Seems a bit steep to me but that is his deal now. MM, give me a little tim...

Re: 1986 Honda Aero 50 Fuel Issue

Only other thing I might suggest would be to check the float bowl level. I saw a really cool post recently about how to do it without removing the carb - kinda like a liquid level concept. Can't find the link right now but if you search on it you should be able to find it. That would be another quic...

Re: 1986 Honda Aero 50 Fuel Issue

In my situation, I just loosened the cap to make sure it would vent and it ran fine that way - so I pulled off the cap, cleaned it out and it has run fine ever since. Sounds like you've checked the easy things - petcock, fuel flow... I assume you have a good clean air filter and that you have cleane...

Re: 1986 Honda Aero 50 Fuel Issue

Just a thought or two - I've had the same problem twice. Once it turned out to be the gas cap not venting properly - easy enough to check. The other time I used a lawnmower in-line filter and it simply did not allow enough gas to flow to sustain high speeds. Using the honda NH125 in line filter cure...

Re: Briefly out of commission

Thank you all for the kind wishes. After those pics from LoveMyHonda I realize it could've been much worse. Would love to have been there to see that wave, Wheelman - bet she told whoever she was talking to that some crazy, dangerous motorcycle rider almost hit her - something needs to be done about...

Briefly out of commission

Hi all, Got some new tires for my 85 Aero 80, slapped em on, and went for what I thought would be a quick test ride (this was Sunday 4/27 midday). I always thought of myself as careful and observant when riding but there are some situations that can't be avoided. I was turning left onto a 4 lane roa...

Re: Another silver NH80

Forgot to mention - it is missing the small panel under the seat on the left that holds the seat latch lock. I had just found this piece on ebay overseas for my 83 - must be pretty common to have missing:

Another silver NH80

Wasn't looking but came across another silver NH80. I have an 83 and this one is an 84. Paid $400.00 - was running although slightly rough. Only about 1700 miles - still has tool kit and manual. Fuel tank was clean as a whistle. All I did was clean the carb, new fuel, air, and oil lines, new filter ...
