Re: SB50P Hard to Start
Posting my findings, as promised: The bike now runs properly. Starts immediately, revs up with no issue. The problem was in the carb. Funny thing is, I looked that four carburetors (three of mine, plus the bikes carb), two from Sprees and two from SB50Ps, and three of them had the same issue. The by...

Re: Lowering My Standards
I have one of those if you need parts. I have no interest in her because she does not have a title, I am building a Maxi right now. I will probably put a write up here eventually showing it off. Dude, let me know what you have. Heck, I'd buy the whole bike! No title needed in AZ, and I've got the C...

Another Spree Case Cracking Tool!
Sometimes, it pays to have multiple motorized problems... I was recently collecting bits and bobs in order to experiment with clutch tuning on my JC Penny Pinto moped. The engine was supplied by Steyr-Daimler Puch, and the engine code is E50. If you see a Puch moped, odds are good that it has that m...

Re: Elite 80 carb help
It's not possible to clean it effectively when installed. You can only sorta clean the main jet and the choke circuit, but you won't be able to clean the pilot without removing the float bowl. If the main's clogged, the pilot is too. Do youself a favor, pull the carb, clean it well and save yourself...

Re: Elite 80 carb help
Looks to be a mid-90's or newer bike, based on the side panel decal. If you look under the body, behind the front wheel, you should find a decal showing the model year. Pull the carb and clean it. I'm guessing by your usename that you're in AZ. Carbs seem to get gummy quick here if fuel isn't flowed...

Re: plastic repair(not scooter)
You could try Seal-All. It's gas and oil resistant. I use it to build oiled-foam air filters and it holds up well.

Re: Lowering My Standards
What type of transmission does that thing have? (looks like centrifugal clutch but?) Later, Nathan It's a centrifugal clutch setup. It works like a Spree, except the crank-mounted pulley contains the clutch and the transmission pulley is fixed. Unlike the Spree, adding a variator is easy and parts ...

Re: Bradthreee's Feedback Thread
After a series of transactions over a period of months, I can confidently say that Brad is a stand-up guy who takes care of his customers. I don't hesitate to hit him up first when I need parts for my little Honda two strokes!

Aftermarket. The original seat was destroyed and I didn't want to wait for the upholstery shop. It comes with a de-badged Puch saddle stock. Seat's on hold, bought the Ciao with my upholstering budget.

Re: Lowering My Standards
Sounds like a fancy bicycle seat is in your future. About the only thing between a rigid Ciao and a bicycle is a Velosolex. I've been wanting to mess with a Ciao. Very tuneable motor. I'll have to swap the fork if I try to make it faster, the front brakes make the Spree's brake look awesome!

Re: CH150 valve timing help
I admit, I don't own a 150. I've rebuilt one for a friend and it did alright. The setup is similar to a CH80, though. I set mine up by Honda-san's procedure for cam timing, but I did run the exhaust valve at 0.6mm instead of 0.5mm (bit too tappy at 0.7mm) to keep the valve from tightening up too muc...

Lowering My Standards
Bought a new toy over the weekend. Something to make my Spree look that much more awesome: http://api.ning.com/files/5h9K2HHcHs9MnJMqpUxFxfk*o3i06*4opZHDfvK7rEie7H5eBz75jp8SbBHk9d7sqXonwOVm*sd*rK8weCxrtRVXuQMPLQJV/Ciao_1.jpg '71 Piaggio Ciao. Re: CH150 valve timing help
I'd look here first:
http://www.hondaspree.net/other/Elite_C ... _85-86.pdf
Section 6, page 14. Sets up similarly to a CH80 Elite. There's a mark on the flywheel and on the cam. Once those are set, install the cam chain tensioner and set the valve lash.

Re: removing throttle cable......
I didn't intend to sound sarcastic. I think the brass rotates inside the cap in order to prevent the cable from getting twisted up when the cap is taken on and off the carburetor. It's probably pressed on at the factory and won't come out easily. The groove below the brass fitting is there to hold t...
