Re: 80cc 4 stroke spree

Will running straight pipe cause harm or decrease in performance? I would like to fabricate dual exhaust. Four-stroke engines do not depend on exhaust backpressure as heavily as two-stroke engines. However, they do require some backpressure. If you do brew your own pipe, I'd recommend that you make...

Re: removing throttle cable......

In the picture, the cable goes into the brass-colored fitting with the dimples on it. The dimples are dents from when the fitting was crimped onto the cable. It might be possible to wiggle a small screwdriver or pick in between the cable and the crimped fitting and loosen the connection up, but I ca...

Re: 80cc 4 stroke spree

The rear wheel has a much bigger brake drum; you'll probably need to keep the CH80 wheel. If you really feel the need to downsize the tire, I wouldn't recommend going below a 3.00x10.

Cool swap, though!

Re: removing throttle cable......

Agreed, it's crimped on. You'd need to loosen the crimp.

Re: 86 Honda Spree Runs but Won't Charge Battery

Item #4 was asked because the battery helps regulate power on some Honda models. On bikes without a regulator/rectifier, running without a battery can blow the headlamp. A Spree has a regulator/rectifier. I think the rectifier can be damaged if the bike if run without a battery for a prolonged period.

Re: 86 Honda Spree Runs but Won't Charge Battery

Couple of quick questions: 1) Did you fully charge the battery before putting it in your spree? 2) did you trickle chagre or quick charge the battery? 3) Did you check your battery terminals for corrosion? 4) Was the bike run for a time without a battery? The problem could be caused by bad connectio...

Re: Ground

Any functioning electrical system must have a ground. Some manufacturers use the vehicle chassis as the ground circuit between electrical devices and the negative battery terminal. Can you give some more input about your issue?

Re: help with my honda elite se50ph

Did the speed go away abruptly or gradually? If it happened over time, some of the transmission parts (variator rollers and/or drive belt) may have worn out. When the rollers wear, the transmission isn't able to change into it's highest ratio and when the belt wears, it doesn't ride as high in the p...

Pretty sure that Bear was faster too! Hey, Guy Le Douche! Maybe some of us aren't too worried how fast our scooters are and are more interested in the engineering behind a trick setup than talking trash about our purported achievments, which persist in remaining nebulous at best. How about I have a ...

Re: Aero 50 standard belt vs. "sport" belt. Big difference?

It will change over time as the new belt beds in. Takeoff is slower because the wider belt doesn't drop as low in the variator. On the plus side, it rides higher at full variation, hence the speed boost.

While I recognize BikeBandit as a good source of parts, they don't list the NQ50 (Spree) or SB50 (Elite E). Not sure which models share rings with them.

Re: Spree took a * need help

If you need stock rings, hit up your Honda dealer. If you need a piston and rings, try Tazland's store: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-Spree-NQ50-Piston-Kit-Stock-Size-41mm-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem563a838567QQitemZ370348885351QQptZOtherQ5fVehicleQ5fParts I bought one of those before, quali...

Re: SB50P Hard to Start

Brad, it's possible. The PO hadn't run the bike in years and didn't know much about it mechanically. He may have let a friend bang on it; as far as I can tell, it was painted by someone other than Honda. After checking the seals on the current setup out, I may just try the carb I bought from backinb...
