why dont you just put a cool sounding fan under your plastics and leave the engine fan alone
p.s. you could probly take your flywheel to a machine shop and have them take off the equivalent weight of your engine fan if you are still concerned about it be parasitic

Re: needle setting
try the middle groove or play around and see which notch gives the best performance it shouldn't make your temps go up at all it just gives more fuel at lower throttle positions so it will give better take off/throttle response

Re: larger tires=slower?
sounds like your wieghts are too light, lighter weights give better acceleration and lower top speed and heavier weights equal the opposite

Re: Variator Backing Plate Question (93 ELite 50 SR)
you don't need the backing plate its just there to keep grease in which honda later decided was not necessary, infact the backing plate actually hinders top speed so toss it and skip the grease

Re: Carburator fills with oil on my 87' Elite SE50.
it should not cost any money except for maybe new gas if you do this your self and if traffic jams is right and you oil line is in the wrong place it will be very easy and you wont need to drain anything

Re: ?Non-removable main jet?
thats very interesting your only option if that jet/housing is not threaded may be to find an appropriate size drill bit to up the size, or find a different carb http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewto ... =8&t=12839

Re: 1985 nb50m has weak spark
in my experience it is gonna be the coil and you can buy those off ebay for like 15-20 dollars from gy6 scooters, i just did this recently and the coil works flawlessly. heres some links as you can see old broken honda coils are like 36 dollars when you can buy two brand new coils for that price htt...

Re: Elite cutting out at
not completely sure what your asking but it sounds like you have a kilswitch issue, does it stay running with the key out? or is it turning off while you are driving around?
