Loud horns? Who's got em?

See the "Getting Horny" thread for pics of wiring. Any junkya - sorry, auto recycler - will have scads of horns. They are dirt cheap So is the little yellow switch on the handlebar. It will not support the current draw of anything bigger than Honda-san's tooter.

Aside from space/mounting considerations, the electrical system does not have a lot of reserve juice. It can barely keep the battery charged, but an occasional blast from an air compressor may be feasible.

I have had air horns on every bike I've owned since 1984 except Flash and my XL600R. They can save you from a crash, but they can be unnecessarily provocative. There are one-percenters out there who will cut off your thumb if you tick them off on purpose...
I'd only use it to save my * from being killed. And I can just rig up a relay for the current needs of the new $40 horn that I'm gunna buy. I'm not attempting to install an air compressor in my scoot just to have a locomotive sound coming from me. :)

Greetings:

Stebel makes an integrated mini-compressor air horn. I found mine at Griot's Garage, but I've seen them at autoparts stores too. It's about the size of a fist, can fit inside front cover somewhere with a little bracket wizardry. It's about as loud as one of those nautical air horns - Yikes!!

I have one on my Sportster. Cars thinking about changing into my lane usually think again... :)

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.
