decent 87 elite for $75

Post by evilone »

Almost got an 87 Elite last night, drove over an hour to get it based on descriptions.

(1)It says 1987. We have this scooter and several plastic pieces for scooters that we are asking $75 OBO

(2)The battery is dead, but it did run previous to that. The front wheel is frozen up. That is why it is being sold for parts. The plastic pieces are in good shape.

So i get there and front plastic is hanging on for dead life by electrical tape (come on, we all know to use duct tape!), the side plastics were gone, taillight hanging, muffler tip packed with mud, and to top it off...SE50P, restricted . So for * and giggles i go look at all the extra scooter plastics. 3 pieces, 1 extra front and the side panels for the 87. All mounting tabs broken off and cracks all over. I passed and drove over an hour home :? Done venting

See the lights? See the smoke in 3rd pic? I cleaned mud from tip of muffler and it started with some cranking. I need to clean carb but it does run. Not sure what to do with it. Refresh the motor and get it running great again then sell motor so someone can do a Spree AF05 swap or do a stand-up scooter like surfnturf's Aero-ped. I'm thinking stand up scooter.

man that is ugly. if i see any panels going for cheap i'll send them your way.

oh and im not sure if you can use 89 and up panels either because the change in the frame. you might have to stick with the 87 panels. sheesh...

this might be of use to you... should be about 1 hour away from your location. Google maps told me so.

He only has front panel, not side panels. Thanks for the lookout though. I found out the crank splines have been stripped away and the guy in the link does have an 87 elite crank for $40. I didn't buy this thing to put money into, i can do that to mine and my wifes SA50's! But again thanks for the link, i'm afraid panels are going to take awhile to find since they are 1 year only :|
