The guy who painted the "backfire" is the guys father in law. I'm checking to see if he could repaint the covers. If not i will sand down and paint the covers black cherry without flames.

Unless...trafficjamz wants all the plastic for $175 so i can buy new Monza Red panels

True. Looks like i'm going to do away with paint job and go some solid color. Anyone know if Black Cherry is custom mixed by each person or something i could buy in a quart and it would match front cover?

as far as i know its a custom color,you could always ask you local auto body shop if they have it. or if you have a dupont shop near you they can mix up some im sure.

Shucks, leave it alone. It would be a great conversation piece, and it would be one of a kind. Everybody has flames going the right way. You would be the only one with backfiring flames.

I found out his father in law just used the rest of some paint he had laying around. I'll just paint it myself, i got the HVLP gun and compressor, I'll do black cherry minus the flames. At least the flames will still be on the front.

I had a 68 chevy c10 shortbox (wish i kept it) that had "scallops" painted on it...backwards. I got sick of people pointing it out like i was the one who painted it and didn't realize they were backwards.

Dude, swap in a dio...on the front and make it a two way bike Then when they mock you, you can drive off backwards and their faces will look like this
