It's 60 degrees outside...time to ride!

Post by dr.ona »

Finally a decent day to go riding in the Northwest :D

Here's 2 of my Sprees....I painted the grey one with the Painters Touch paint for plastics....worked out great. The other one I had the back panels painted at a local shop for $15.

I also had the rear blinkers brought in about 2" each on both sides so they don't stick out so much.

Anyways...I'm pretty excited about the weather so I'm outta here...

I like the shortened turn signals, the chrome on my rack is just about gone and its covered in tool marks from me bending it back. Your lucky today it was only 40 and raining all day so I couldnt ride my currently illegal bike :(. Meh at least now I have the paperwork to get it legal and back in the system again.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Thanks!
We just rode for about 3 hours in town....fun stuff. We had lunch at this bar that use to be a biker hangout in the 70's...couldn't help but take a photo of it :D

Shortening the blinkers is a great idea....I had the same problem with the extentions being bent plus it seems like I was always banging them on something.

so, i understand you cut the mounting bars down to shorten the length, but how did you re-attach the signals after the cut?

Ha..ha...thanks man...
I bought those tikis at an estate sale in Oregon. They're upsidedown palm trees that we're hand carved from the late 60's. The owner had them in Seattle most of the time.

Here is a photo from last year. I have one more Spree since then. The VW thing is a 1974.

I took the 2" out of the center of the bar between the rack and the end and had the ends re-welded

Greetings:

Doctor, you are truly the King of the Super-Clean Sprees. My compliments. If you ever go big-bore, the Thing can provide a good supply of exhaust gaskets, as we've recently learned.
