just bought a 1986 honda elite 150

Post by llcoolsasa »

it is awesome. so excited to ride it around - my husband got it up to 66 on the highway and he weighs about 200lbs, so at 130 i'm thinking i could go even faster. the bike is in great shape, no major cosmetic flaws & runs great so far. any tips for a new scooter owner?

DOT approved helmet, you may be the safest driver, but cars give scooters no respect.

Unless the previous owner told you that it was done recently, its a good idea to change the oil in the crankcase and also the transmission.

SAE 10W-40 is recommended by Honda for both. The crankcase oil should be changed every 500 miles. I use full synthetic.

For refill at change the capacities are:
Crankcase - 0.8 qt
Transmission - 0.16 qt
Lambretta TV-175 (wish I'd never sold it!)
