Finally got it running....Now with pics

Post by toad772 »

Well I finally got my Aero50 running.....But it won't idle with the vacuum line on and the speedometer doesn't work. Other then that it runs good. I will have picks up tomorrow I am sick today and don't really feel like taking pics.

Are you sure the petcock is working properly and holds a vacuum? If it doesn't hold a vacuum, that would explain why the engine does not idle with it on.

The speedo issue is fairly simple to check. Pull the cable off the speddo head and spin the front wheel, if the cable turns it shold be the speedo head, unless the cable is broke.

The vacuum line has a crack in it will get a new one soon.

I will check the speedo cable when I feel better.

To bad it decided to start acting up.

Will start up and then die a few seconds later and if I give it throttle it dies instantly.

Sounds like a carb issue.

Probably.

Earlier I drove it around the block and every time I slowed down for a turn it wouldn't speed back up if i gave it throttle it would bog and quit and then it would start right back up first kick and go again till I slowed down and then it started doing what it is now.

Low or high float level will cause that. I would add an inline fuel filtr to the system between the petcock and the carb.

There is one on there but it was on there when i got the scooter and I didn't replace it or the old hard fuel lines.
