Greetings from Amsterdam-Holland! Honda Vision Met-In pics

Post by sopa »

Greetings from Amsterdam-Holland! So glad to find this site. I own a Honda Vision Met-in, as some of you might know a very similar scooter to the elite (besides a few optical differences- note the backside and lame bumperstrips allround- i'm not sure what else is different). Here these Honda's are considered grandma scooters (although they were the thing to have in the nineties). So cool to be able to get some customizing ideas from this forum! Since my scoot is an old little beast and i've put to much money in it already I will be making some minor optical changes only, for now... (please god give me strength! ) It already goes (too) fast, it's unrestricted and has an open racing proma exhaust, plus adjusted jets en rollers of course.

I plan to regarly post some pics on this thread of amsterdam scoots that are similar to the elite, spree and aero (since we don't have those exact models but some that come very close)+ the small updates that are coming on my Vision for those who are interested.

That's the proma pipe, that's the one i'm running now. It made a huge difference in speed, acceleration and especially sound.
with the standard unrestricted exhaust an variator it hardly did 37mph on the guage, now it does 50 mph on gps.
Note that the speedlimit here is 27mph and the motor is almost 20 years old..

Anybody knows if there's a big difference in engines between the vision met-in and the elite?

Wicked front rack. As for the engine, it would help if you tell us the code stamped on the tranny cover. The '94-01 elite uses that AF16e-..... (the first 4 digits are all that matter).

On my way through the city today I came upon this cool rarity. It's a Peugeot Rapido Trike! Quit similar to the aero50. Once made for a disabled person, but now flat black and thrashed, quite a shame, cuz it sure could be a cool little motor!

Some of the Rapido engines are the same as some Dio engines, right?

When parking today my vision found a lil sister. I love the difference a pair of smoke blinkers make. They're very hard to come by and not very legal over here (for those who thought Amsterdam was "the tolerance capital of the world"). I have a pair of carbon front blinkers waiting to be put on, but it seems impossible to find orange lightbulbs that will fit, so maybe i should bring out the glasspaint..
I'd love to get some white sideskirts on my black vision.

Also I came across on all stock white vision with the original graphics still in decent shape, they're quit rare. Couldnt be more typical nineties style...

I agree with those graphics, but that two tone red and white reminds me of the eighties, thinking about the Honda and Yamaha bikes.

Glad to be an inspiration! :thumbwink:

The Honda Vision Met- In is pretty much the european version of the Elite. I think the Elite is a bit newer and faster (but I still have to research the difference in engine).

I've posted in your thread aswell, at least the headset is similar to the "DJ Kymco Yes/Euro", so maybe that can point you in the right direction to finding some parts. I'm no technical wiz at all, but I know some of the Kymco DJ parts are interchangable with those of the Vision Met-In at least and also the DJ engine is easy to swap in a vision frame and is a little faster unrestricted.

Goodluck!

Six you dont have the same engine as they do. You have the elite sr engine 88-93. To bad the AF16 tact didnt have the dio engine. ;[
