Is it possible to put a variator on a Spree?

The place to discuss rides, accessories, or whatever is tangentially Spree/Elite-related

Is it possible to put a variator on a Spree?

Post by Carnie »

I live in a town with a bunch of hills and I am curious as to if I could put a variator on my Spree to help with that. I have a friend that I ride with who has a Pal and he leaves me in the dust on the hills. I am hoping to step up my game and maybe acceleration a little bit. Any recommendations?

Even if it can be done using stock spree engine (which it probably can't), it would be far less work and greater reward to swap in a variated engine setup, out of an elite. As the saying goes, "Dude, swap in a DIO!" .
